Reflection:
In Dr. Bob Houghton's Computers in
Education class, I was introduced to many great programs and ideas that
help a teacher organize everything from her classroom to her
gradebook. The 2-D classroom layout can serve as a seating chart
for substitute teachers or allow the teacher to organize her room
easily on paper before she ever moves a single desk. The Excel
gradebook easily calculates averages, minimums, maximums, and ranges
for every student or test entered. These are only two of the
countless "shortcuts" we learned. There are many other programs
designed specifically to help teachers. By spending less time on
the paperwork, we can focus more time on our students and our lessons.
