Reflection:
As a beginning teacher, I expect to
have some great lessons and some not so great lessons. In the
first few years especially, it is important to evaluate all lessons in
some fashion. If I am teaching multiplication in a way that none
of my students comprehend, no amount of repetition will suddenly give
way to understanding. While self-evaluation is a wonderful tool
to assess a lesson, student evaluations can also be quite
helpful. When teaching with technology, it is important to ensure
that the technology used is adding to the lesson in some way.
Simple student questionnaires like the one above can help teachers
determine if the computer program or short movie were actually helpful
or simply time fillers.
