On March 18th, 2006, Rocky and I had a new addition to the family: a black lab pup!!! We named it "Phantom"...but not only because of my 'little' Phantom of the Opera obsession. Rocky's family tends to name their pets "spooky" names, so-to-speak. For example, they have two black labs named Misery and Diablo :)
So, we figured "Phantom" is a name that makes us both happy :) And he's already starting to live up to it: there are several times I think he's in the other room, but I turn around and he's right there behind me (the little sneak!) He's such a good boy! He is probably 90% pottytrained already, and he knows "sit" and "give paw" as far as tricks go :)

Here is Phantom close-up at the bottom of the stairs. Rocky snapped this pic and I think it's just SO cute...sorta the whole "wide-angle lense" thing!
This photo of Phantom reminds me of something from "The Dog" series...

Rocky and I "dog-sat" our parent's (aka, MY) old dog, Shadow, and my sis' dog, Mozart, when they went to Florida in July. The cutest thing EVER was that Phantom was very protective of Shadow, who is 16 1/2 years old (in HUMAN years!). Shadow has a lot of "issues", and one of them is hacking once in a while. So every time he did this, Phantom would just kinda nudge him and sniff at him, almost like he's saying, "You alright, little buddy?". It was so CUTE!
Here is one picture of the two buddies lounging on my futon in my computer room, Phantom being "The Protector" of course.
In this one, Phantom was finally able to relax and nap next to Shadow after making sure that he was still ALIVE. haha..
Rocky snapped this one after the Labor Day party we had this year. I look so happy to have my puppy!!! Phantom's exhausted from the party!
I'll be uploading more soon, I'm sure...especially as he grows! He's already gotten bigger from when we got him 2 weeks ago :)
