Please allow me the pleasure of introducing Miss Cookie, The Cutter!
In my day to day activities, I'm a musician, songwriter, teacher & journalist. I'm also an avid music lover!

Shortly after Christmas 2007, while updating the MySpace page of my old friend Hayden Thompson, I noticed a friend request from a young lady from London, England. Being naturally curious & intrigued by the name 'Miss Cookie', I decided to investigate. I'm so glad that I did!

Miss Cookie, it turns out, is a young blues belter & pianist. Within the first minute of her song "My Baby's Back In Town" I was hooked! While the video was raw & home-made, it displayed a talent & energy, raw & unbridled, that shook my very soul! I hadn't come across anything like this since my days stumbling around Beale St. in Memphis! I had to know more! Did she have a CD available? A demo? Something, anything! I was like a junkie looking for his next fix! So I did the obvious thing...I emailed her!
Miss Cookie, I was to find out, is only all of 20 years old! How could this young thing, this child, have so much talent & such a rich, original powerful voice? How does this young gal have the ability to convey such emotion in her singing, playing & writing?  Her knowledge of the genres of blues, rockabilly, R&R, country, jazz, etc. rival mine & that of my friends...and we're ancients compared to her!

But no dear readers, do not expect some "cookie cutter" (pardon the pun) poser or wannabe. Cookie is, in every sense of the word, the REAL DEAL!

I've played her music for friends, record execs, radio disc jockies, musicians, journalists, and most importantly, music fans and they all agree, Miss Cookie is a musical force to be reckoned with! Oh you lucky Londoners! To be able to pop into your local clubs & hear this young blues belter, pretty much as you wish...must be a joy indeed! But what about the rest of us? We want our Cookie too!
Here it is, the new year. In lieu of my annual resolutions, I've vowed to do whatever in my power I can to bring Miss Cookie to the world! As she has yet to record, I'm striving to record her. I want to bring her to the attention of the US blues market and ultimately to the world! She without doubt has the goods. Her style is unique. Her style is most definitely her own. Equal parts post war blues, rockabilly, R&R and whatever else she cares to mix in, her music, I'm certain, will delight all who hear!
Please take the time dear reader, to view Miss Cookie's MySpace page. This will give you some background information not covered here, as well as some of her videos and list of her public performances.

I do hope you enjoy her music as much as I do... I'm pretty sure you will!

Thanks for taking the time to read my humble page here. I hope to have a proper web site up for Miss Cookie soon!

Sincerely,

Memphis Mike
