| The Miss NY Chinese is the only Chinese pageant in the United States that takes place every year to search for a contestant for Miss Chinese International. The pageant was formerly called "Miss Greater Chinatown NYC" and contestants were appointed to Miss Chinese International for a few years before 2002. From 2002 to 2004, there was a semi-final and a final pageant. Only those who advance to the finals are eligible for awards.
