#1 Beverly Yip

Question - If you could replace the Monkey King with another animal to travel the West, which one would you pick and why?
Answer - She said she would replace it with a Tiger because it is trustworthy, honest and loyal. Her Father was born in the year of the lion and her Dad came to the U.S. with nothing.
Comment - She spent too long of a time trying to connect what she was saying together.
#2 Michelle He Yan

Question - For Chinese New Year, we always have chicken for dinner. However, since there has been a disease going around through the Chicken, what animal would you recommend we use?
Answer - She said she would use Fish because we have it for dinner anyways. Fish is also high in Protein.
#3 Elaine Yu

Question - If you Could add one more holiday, what would it be?
Answer - Adding the Lunar New Year because a lot of Asian Americans celebrate it already and it would be great if the rest of America could celebrate it with us.
Comment - A very obvious choice.
#4 Tina I Ting Ting (4th Runner-Up)

Question - If Bush asked you to bring a food to Mars, what would you bring?
Answer - She says although rice would be the obvious choice, she would choose wheat. It is nutritious, has a lot of vitamins and could feed other animals.
Comment - Most likely gained some points for not giving an obvious answer. It was bad that she said "How do you say it?" during her interview question.
#5 Sharlene Wang

Question - Would you prefer to hear bad or good news first?
Answer -  She said she would like to hear the bad news first. She would be happy to know that the good news would be coming. She ended becoming very lost in her answer. After she said she likes to live life knowing that the good news is coming, she said the word "and". But she didn't seem to have anything to say after that. So she ended by saying "And I want to Thank God."
Comment - She was obviously very lost in her answer, which caused her to lose a placement.
#6 Annie Tang (3rd Runner-Up)

Question - If we decided not to use the Qi Pao for the Miss Chinatown USA competition, what would you suggest we replace it with?
Answer - She would not want the Qi Pao to go away. However, if she had to choose, she would choose the Evening Gown because it is elegant.
Comment - I thought she answered the question very smoothly
#7 Rina Tzeng (2nd Runner-Up and Miss Photogenic)

Question - What flower would you use to represent the Miss Chinatown USA Pageant?
Answer - I forgot what flower she named, but she choose it because it was elegant.
#8 A. Wang

Question - If you went to an event, and your Boyfriend was in Chinese Formal Wear and you were in American Formal Wear, what would you do?
Answer - First off, she would be happy just to see her boyfriend in formal wear, because he never dresses up. She would be happy that her boyfriend embraced her culture enough to wear Chinese Formal Wear.
Comment - Very Good Structure, surprised she didn't get a placement with her answer.  Perhaps lost out in looks.
# 9 Shan Chen (Miss Chinatown USA 2004)

Question - Recently, there's been news about the mad cow disease. How would you promote eating beef?
Answer - She would be in commercials eating beef to promote it and show people she'll eat it. At the end she states what Mad Cow is and how Humans shouldn't be afraid.
Comment - She walked confident, but it looked like she was trying to look sexy in her walk. Her answer was very good, and it seemed like she was very aware of current events.
#10 Crystal Yuan (Miss Talent)

Question - Miss Chinatown USA wants to make a cartoon, who should they use?
Answer - Should use Mulan because everyone knows who she is and she's very brave.
Comment - Could of expanded so much more on this question. Although her answer wasn't great, it wasn't bad. I'm surprised her talent didn't help her place. (02/05 Update - Talent is actually considered a placement, so by winning the talent award, she couldn't place in the top 6)
#11 Annie Chang (Miss San Francisco Chinatown)

Question - If a shoe factory sales person asked you where to go to produce shoes, where would you pick, Africa, China or U.S.?
Answer - She chose China to produce the shoes.
Comment - I thought it was an obvious answer, but confident. Pageant Pro.
#12 Kim Choy (1st Runner-Up - Miss Chinese Chamber of Commerce)

Question - If she could choose one celebrity to be in an anti-smoking campaign, who would it be and why?
Answer - She chose Jackie Chan. Since Jackie Chan has a new animated series, he can promote to the youth. He's also very well known, so he can promote to the general public.
Comment - Great answer, she covered it very well.
#14 Meilinda Huang

Question - Which historical person, past or present, do you hate the most?
Answer - She chose Hitler.
Comment - I think it's a very obvious answer, and had a little problem answering it. I personally find her quite cute. Too bad she didn't place.
#15 Stacy Young

Question - If we stop exchanging red envelopes, what would you do? (*Not sure if that was the question)
Answer - Spend more time with family.
Comment - It was a very good answer, but she came off kind of masculine.
#16 Dana Li KT Dung

Question - If she could be on a stamp, which value would she be on? The 39 cents, 3.95 dollars, or 14.95 dollars.
Answer - When the MC asked how she was doing, she said she was hungry. (hehe!) She chose the 39 cent stamp because it is used more than the other two, and she would love seeing her face when she gets mail.
Comment - I thought her answers were very cute, but perhaps her downfall was having her sister win the year before. Too much make up made her look worse than she really is.
