| My name is Miss Laura Breen and I am currently one of the art teachers at both Loudonville Elementary School and Boght Hills Elementary School. I have been teaching since September of 2002, and been in North Colonie since September of 2003. Before becoming an art teacher, I went to The College of Saint Rose in Albany. There I earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in photography, and received certification in art education. I am currently taking classes toward my master's degree in education. As some of you know, I grew up in the small port city of Oswego, New York. It was during my 3rd grade year that I told my parent's that I was going to be an art teacher when I grew up. Always drawing or creating something as a young person, I see myself in some of the students I teach! I am a real life example of the saying "reach for your dreams, and they will come true!" I have set high standards for my young art students, but am willing to help them 100% to reach their highest potential. This website is a product of that thought- there are so many kids and parents who have asked me "what more can I do to be an artist?" Please visit this site and explore the different links. The more you know, the more you can do! As always, please e-mail me with any questions, suggestions or happy thoughts! |
