Tips for taking care of your books.

If you are a lover of books then you know that a good keep of them is important. Here is some ways to keep your books in good condition.

Breaking in a hardbound book
Breaking-in a new book properly will greatly extend its circulation life. This process lessens the probability of a patron accidentally breaking the binding or cracking the spine, and will remove the stiffness that is typical of new hardbound books.
Step One
Stand the book on its spine and GENTLY run your thumb along the inside hinge of each cover.
Step Two
Repeat the process, alternating front and back, every five or ten pages until you reach the middle of the book. Remember to be GENTLE, and the pages of the book should now lay flat when open.
