This story isn’t shounen-ai,
if you don’t want it to be. No mush, but it’s quite sappy.
{…} Text of the song.
I’m using
the Japanese version names:
Takao =
Tyson
Gogoro Datenji = Mr. Dickinson
Disclaimer:
I don’t own Beyblade and Scorpions ‘Wind of Change’.
After the end of the Russian Championships the
Bladebreakers were supposed to get back to
{I follow the Moskva

An August summer night
Soldiers passing by
Listening to the wind of change}
Kai
was seating on his bed arms crossed over his chest. Being the captain he could
claim the one-person room, which he had been glad to do. Or so he thought.
The
door creaked silently and a blue-haired head peeked inside. The owner of the
said head soon came in not even asking for permission. Typical Takao, Kai
wanted to say. Meanwhile, the other boy plopped on his bed, beside his captain.
{The world is closing in
Did you ever think
That we could be so close, like brothers
The future's in the air
I can feel it everywhere
Blowing with the wind of change}
‘Kai?’ he asked, sounding concerned. ‘You really all right?’
‘Hn…’ The older boy looked at Takao, his face betraying
nothing. He remained so for a moment and when he finally answered his voice was
as monotone as ever. ‘Why are you asking?’
‘Well, your grandfather came out to think,
you’re some kind of tool or weapon.’ The new world champion put his hands
behind his head and fell back. ‘I’d be pretty upset, if something like that
happened to me, so I…’
{Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
in the wind of change}
There was a long pause, where they both
remained silent. The blue-eyed Japanese looked somewhat uncomfortable, but than
he didn’t want to annoy Kai right now. He would do it later, with out even
trying. The older blader turned his head, so he was
facing the wall.
{Walking down the street
Distant memories
Are buried in the past forever

‘… I wish, he were
proud of me…’ He muttered. ‘You’re so lucky your grandfather cares for you… My
ignored me most of the time.’
{Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me
Take me to the magic of the moment

Takao didn’t know what to say. He should
comfort Kai somehow, but the right words didn’t want to appear in his head.
Sure, he could make a joke, but that wasn’t the right thing – of that he was
sure. Unless making his captain have a mood-swing was
the right thing to do, which he highly doubted. It wouldn’t work, at least not
for long. And since Kai was his friend he had to try better, didn’t he?
{The wind of change
Blows straight into the face of time
Like a stormwind that will ring the freedom bell
For peace of mind
Let your balalaika sing
What my guitar wants to say}
‘He
was never interested in what I said or did.’ The brown-eyed teenager continued.
‘He didn’t even acknowledge me, when I won the Japanese Championships a year
ago… He didn’t say a thing when I lost to you… Like I
wouldn’t exist.’ He smiled bitterly. ‘Seems I had to defy him to
actually notice me…’
{Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me}
Takao bit his lip. What to do? And suddenly he
knew. Sometimes words make it more complicated – so don’t say a thing and act.
He was better at the latter, anyway. He sat up and wrapped his arms around the
other boys’ neck. Kai stiffened and looked at him taken aback. Then, slowly, he
relaxed and hugged the blue-eyed blader back.

On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
in the wind of change}
I just had one
of those ideas you can’t get out of your head unless you don’t write them down.
Plus I got bored with all those stories where Kai gets raped by his
grandfather. That was the result.
