“That’s
the last time I ever go to a musical,” stated Seto after
finding himself with Isis in the comfortable interior of his limo. It was not
exactly what the CEO would have called an enjoyable evening. He had fallen
asleep a few times during the play and Isis had to wake him up by shoving an
elbow into his side – which hurt a lot.
“Oh?
Why is that?” the Egyptian asked innocently.
“Because
if they were making a play about a drowning ship it would go like that: Oh
the ship is sinking! We’re all going to die, so let’s sing some lively song to
tell that!”
Isis
winced – the elder Kaiba didn’t exactly have a good
singing voice. He sounded raspy and out of tune… whatever tune it might have
been. It sounded like a very bad version of Yankee Doodle mixed with a funeral
march to her.
“Do
me a favour and don’t sing anymore…” she
sighed.
“Gladly.”
Seto was
aware he couldn’t sing. After all, he did try singing when he was kid and Mokuba told him not to ever try doing it again. It was
quite obvious that he never did – if his little brother didn’t like it…
“So
you wasted a whole evening?”
Something
in Isis’ voice hinted, he should better think well before answering.
“No,
I can’t say that,” he answered after a while. “I’d have wasted it, if I went
alone.”
“Oh?
You enjoy my company so much?”
“No
need to be sarcastic,” he said, sounding faintly ironic himself.
“Look
who’s talking…”
“But
as I was saying, no evening in the company of charming lady like you could be
called a wasted one,” he said and planted a small kiss on Isis’ hand.
“My,
my… You actually can be nice…” the Egyptian’s words may have sounded insulting,
but her voice held surprise and amusement in it.
“Why
of course. I just don’t like wasting energy.”
“And
being nice is wasting energy? I suppose I feel special,” the Egyptian said,
half-grinning.
“Yes,
you should,” Seto nodded. “If I bother with being
nice…” he paused – was her really going to say that? He wasn’t even sure if he
was able to admit in the first place. No he should better leave that
unfinished. Isis was smart, she’d figure out.
Mokuba
wasn’t sure if he should be happy or upset that his older brother left him. He
assumed it meant that Seto and Isis were getting
closer and wouldn’t like being disturbed, but he was so very curious! What
could the be doing? Will he and Malik
have to help? It seemed all so much fun in the movies!
The
boy stifled a yawn and looked at the Blue Eyes White Dragon-shaped clock which
stood at his night table. It was one a.m. and they still weren’t back! What
could they be doing so long?
Then
he heard Seto’s voice. They were back! The black-haired
boy sneaked out of his room and went silently to see how they were doing.
However, his plans had been made to naught, as his older brother - with the
help of some instinct, which seems to be so typical for people taking care of
kids - was quite sure Mokuba was still not in bed as
he should be.
"Mokuba?" he said after getting near to the stairs.
W]"I know you're here, you might as well come out... Unless
you want to be nice and go to bed right now, on the spot."
The
boy sighed loudly and left - rather upset too. He really wanted to know and his
brother was treating him like a little kid again! The younger Kaiba supposed Seto had valid
reasons for this, but still...
The
unpleasant thing about being a CEO of a large company is that you never know
when somebody will mess up, where it will be and you can't prevent it if it's
on a very low level. Seto Kaiba
was asleep and didn't plan on waking up until six a.m. .
Unfortunately, the phone rung exactly an hour earlier.
It wouldn't stop being noisy for more than ten minutes and so the brown-haired
youth had to raise his head a little and pick up the receiver. After a few
minutes - since he just woke up and couldn't think really fast - Seto jumped out of his bed, as if someone gave him a strong
kick in his behind and started dressing.
All
he needed now was some idiot making a mistake during the production, since his
"dearest" secretary sent unfinished plans yesterday. Live was beautiful... but not right now.

It’s okay. It just
confused me a lot.
Jewel

liked it. You really think Seto-kinns is so
sex-starved?
