Kai’s Birthday: Chapter 19

Alexei rubbed his chin and smirked.

-         Really kids, you think I’ll go away now? The fate of my computer depends on bugging you to death.

Kai looked at the violet-haired Russian with a disdainful expression, while Takao and Max started chuckling. Yuri growled.

-         What the hell do you want? – he snarled. – Just go back to your daddy!

Balkov’s son’s smirk got even more annoying.

-         And why should I? I barely know him, why should I be interested in his company when I can have so much fun annoying you?

Meanwhile Bill ‘I’m an assassin’ Jones launched another crazy attack at Seiishirou. It looked as if somebody crossed Dragon Ball with Buffy. He yelled like a wounded rabid goat and made a crazy charge. Unfortunately, the tall Japanese simply dodged and Bill’s face made a close acquaintance with the wall.

-         What an idiot. – mumbled Sorata and returned to telling the story of the temple to Arashi. Kai furrowed his brows – it seemed the adults around weren’t going to help them and the job of getting that Alexei-freak off their necks was the job of the most mature person here – obviously him. He closed his eyes wondering how. There was a way – he was sure of it. A thought, which kept evading him. Almost formed, but still blurred. What was it? He reopened and the first thing he saw was Boris peeking from behind Sergey’s leg. Of course! He took the report about the lavender-haired Russians ‘training’, just to show the others since they were so curious. Balkov’s son probably wouldn’t be happy about his father’s ideas, would he?

-         You, Alexei! – the dual-hair-coloured teenager growled. – You’d better read that first before start helping your father more.

The Russian narrowed his eyes, but took the piece of paper and started reading. Soon he bit his lip, dropping the hand with the document.

-         I haven’t expected something like that. – he said to Kai. Than he muttered something in Russian, which Kai didn’t exactly hear, but it sounded much like: ‘I never liked him anyway’. – Are you sure it’s true?

-         Quite. – answered the Japanese.

-         Well… It’s not my fault, is it? – the violet-haired youth shrugged, obviously uncomfortable. He bit his lip. – I didn’t know it!

Kai regarded the older teenager calmly.

-         You’ll leave us alone?

-         Yeah… - Alexei smirked suddenly. – I’ll just bug my father. Maybe you bey-buggers aren’t so bad after all.

-         Why should we be the bad ones? – hissed Yuri. – You were the annoying one here plus your Balkov’s son.

-         Maybe you’ll understand when your older Fell-in-gel-bucket. And it’s none of your business anyway. Now you all better shut up before I change my mind and decide to stay here.

-         Shut your trap, redhead. – growled Johnny at the Russian captain and than glared at the violet-haired youth. – And you go away. Shoo!

Balkov’s son raised his eyebrows and sniggered, silently deciding those bey-brats weren’t really so bad after all. He cheerfully decided to buy some souvenirs – a teddy bear for Nasta (she was fond of those things), something for himself and maybe even something for that idiot of a father, since he was in a good mood. A dildo maybe? He grinned and checked, if he had enough money.

 -  From the primeval mass
let precious chaos vent
Sacred flesh drenched in fornication
beloved by Set
may the winds gather her together
from the secrets of men
after thousands of years of terrifying silence
she comes again – he croaked, sounding very much like a drunken frog.
-                          Huh? – Michael blinked. – That guy’s weird.
-                           You can say that again! – Eddie said. – Now I wonder how long Mr. Sunglasses is going to play with that inept assassin dude?
Seiishiro was still playing cat and mouse with the Bill, who looked very bloody by now. The black-haired man didn’t do anything except for dodging and the assassin always managed to land on the walls.
-                          Seiishiro-san won’t you stop? – pleaded Subaru.
-                           No. It’s fun. – replied the taller man and smirked. – I think my tree is hungry. A little blood would be a good snack for it.
-                           Seiishiro-san!
-                           Aw! Subaru you’re such a spoilsport!
The green-eyed Japanese sighed. Meanwhile Arashi decided it was enough and knocked down both the assassin and Seiishiro. She glared at the others.
-                          We’re going back. – she announced. Most beybladers started grumbling that they didn’t want to, but the black-haired woman was adamant. Takao wanted to protest more violently, but Kai grabbed his arm and started dragging, so the younger boy started yelling at the red-eyed one. Mao sighed and hugged Rei.
-                          A pity the trip wasn’t as much fun as I hoped. – she said. The golden-eyed boy smiled at her, looking slightly apologetic. – Don’t give me that look! I never said it was your fault.
Miaka smiled and took Yuri’s hand. The redhead looked at her surprised, but squeezed the girls hand lightly. Her smile got even brighter and Russian started smiling too, his normally cold eyes getting much warmer.
-                          Hey, Em! You aren’t mad about that spider anymore? – Max asked the orange-haired American, sounding very sweet and adorable. The girl rolled her eyes.
-                          Nah. I ain’t such a bitch.
Unbeknown to the bladers one person among them, didn’t feel happy or relieved that everything was fine. One of them had started feeling jealous long ago. At first he tried to fight back this feeling, but every day gave him new reasons to envy his friends. First was Takao – brave, funny and liked by everyone, even the sullen, introverted Kai. Than was the ever cheerful Max. He was popular like his blue-haired teammate. And Rei? There were reasons to envy him too – girls liked him so much and now it seemed Mao had fallen for him. He was also confident and always knew what to do. Kai was confident and good at everything he did, not to mention smart and there was the small matter of Takao being so interested in him lately. It seemed, he forgot about the person who always tried to help him… Kyouju’s expression betrayed his emotions for a few seconds, long enough for a lavender-haired child to notice that.
-                          Oh, Sorata-san! – Miaka bounced up suddenly. – I have to ask you about something.
-                          What is it, Miaka-chan?
-                          See that boy over there. – she pointed at Boris. – He should be a teenager now.
-                          Oops, seems that was what Hinoto was talking about. We shouldn’t have drunk so much sake on Kamui’s wedding-party. Speaking of whom, I guess, he could turn him back.
The small girl smiled brightly and started chirping to the redhead beside her.
