Okay, so here's what's going on behind the scenes. LOL First and foremost, I will add a new chapter of 'The Road to There' soon. I can't specify a deadline yet, but it is coming up. Promise.

I've been juggling two fics at the same time. (It's my muse's fault). The good news is that 'Within Pages', my first serious A/R, is in its final stages of beta reading. The talented Captain's Quarters has been helping me smooth things out. It should be up very shortly on my LJ if everything goes well. (I will post a notification and link here).

Today, my head is swimming with theories concerning Battlestar's epic conclusion. Mainly, my suspicion is that Laura Roslin is indeed the final Cylon. I might be wrong, Bill might be the fifth, maybe it's someone else altogether. But Laura is my first guess.

There are clues here on skiffy and true they can be interpreted many different ways.

But for me, the hybrid prophecy from 'Razor' fits perfectly with Laura.

And the fifth, still in shadow, will claw toward the light, hungering for redemption that will only come in the howl of terrible suffering. I can see them all. The seven, now six, self-described machines who believe themselves without sin, but in time, it is sin that will consume them. They will know enmity, bitterness, the wrenching agony of the one splintering into the many, and then they will join the promised-land, gathered on the wings of an angel. Not an end, but a beginning.

Laura is dying from breast cancer, therefore her illness might be 'the howl of terrible suffering'. The next part is clearer, referring to how the seven, now six (When D'Anna was boxed), descended into Cylon civil war. As for who enters the promised-land, I cannot say, nor do I know who the angel is.

But my gut tells me that Roslin is the fifth. Perhaps it's simple wishful thinking  cause I can see such potential in that possible story arc. If Laura is the fifth, she might be the one to unite humans and cylons. Perhaps that is why it was so important for her to go through the visions that enabled her to see the people who loved her and in the process finally admit her feelings for Adama.

In any case, I cannot wait until January. Supposedly, the reveal of the final cylon will be made during the first or second episode of season 4.5.

Now on to an awesome video. Considering my Laura musings today, I chose a Roslin-centric vid. It shows the darker path she chose as season 4.0 went along. I cannot blame her character for the choices she's made. Though her methods are sometimes sneaky and somewhat ruthless, the president's sole focus has been leading humanity home. The decline of her health and her impending death perhaps blinded her to anything but her purpose as the 'dying leader'.

Laura Roslin isn't perfect, nor is anyone else on BSG. I love the fact that there are no villain/good guy categories. Everyone in that universe is existing and going through the motions of their lives in the most difficult of circumstances. To me, it gives the show realism seldom seen in scifi or on tv for that matter.

Can't Not-- A Laura Roslin video

Once again, geocities will not let me link. What the frak? Oh well, copy/paste if you want to see awesome editing combined with fitting music.

Later!
