How did you start learning to belly dance?
When I was a teenager I always wanted to learn Latin dances. I went to Budapest with my parents to apply to a dance school, but they told me that I was too fat. They did not even give me a chance to show anything. Everyone else thought I was skinny :o). Later on I moved to Budapest with my sweetheart, where I saw an advertisement. This is how I found my teacher and fell in love with bellydance.
Who were your biggest inspirations and why?
The first one was my teacher.
I was the among the first people to learn belly dancing in Hungary, so we kind of learned from whomever we saw on videos, workshops and each other.
What are some of the belly dance festivals, events in your area? Do you organize any events?
Every year I organize and promote my own Belly Dance Show in Baja, Hungary. The biggest event is the National Belly Dance Competition, which I have won twice.
Do you have a troupe?
I have students, but not a troupe.
Do you write choreography for your troupe?
I teach choreography in my classes.
If you are a soloist, do you choreograph or improvise or both?
I mostly like to improvise.
Favorite Prop: I do not have one.
Do you teach workshops? What themes?
Yes, I do teach. I mostly give workshops to my students, which consist either improvisation technique or a choreography.
