Rexie's babies
Rexie was getting so big, we didn't think she was ever going to pop.  At 8:30 Saturday Feb 8, Rexie delievered her first baby.  By the time she finished, the sweet little girl, she had delivered 12.  Boy, was she tired.  And she has been the ideal mom ever since.  She is always laying with them, or feeding them.  Or covering them up so they stay warm while she goes for a bite to eat.
We decided to let Rexie run around on our bed on Sunday morning.  We put her cage on our bed so she could come and go as she pleased to her babies.  I was sitting with my back to her and turn around just in time to see her jump out of her cage with baby in tow.  She was going to transfer them to our bed.  We know this because Matty did the same thing the night before.  Except she got a little further, she got about 5 of hers under our blanket.  lol  That is why Mike is holding all these babies.  We had to count them to make sure we got them all.(these are rexie's babies)
She must have built and rebuilt this nest about 20 times.  She would seperate all the tissue paper from the shavings and pile it up and then push shavings on top of it.  But then she would burrow in and tear it all apart again.  She still does it, moves the babies around and makes a new nest for them.
Aren't they just the cutest things?
This is certainly a picture I didn't expect to get.  lol  I saw her wander into the frame but snapped the shot.  Didn't realize what the pic was until I downloaded it to my pc.. silly mama.  She likes to move them under my blankets.
This little boy is a blue rex.  He is MINE, all MINE.  lol  Rexie had some terrific babies.
