| My Rose My love is a deep red rose Blossoming once, now burning to close I can only hold so much love For my friends, family, and the one above I thought I could open my heart to you But I was too scared and you weren't true You didn't earn the petal you hold You turned the air too fast~ too cold There's a place in your garden I am not able to fill I don't need you now, I know I never will For if I had chosen to let you take hold My rose would've died because of the cold. |

| Paytons Angel
I still can see you standing there In a wedding dress youll never wear With your laughing eyes, soft hair of gold And a beautiful smile that would never grow old How could we know that somewhere in the light Heavens gates had opened for you that night The newest of the angels, Gods own child Youd leave us a legacy of laughter and smiles One minute you were there, laughing until you cried The next you were gone, we found out that youd died In the blink of an eye, and a crash that left us stunned Your time here was over, and in heaven it had just begun You were an unsung hero, someone who saved lives How I wish I could save you now, but youve left us behind Wed give anything to rescue you, to give you back your life The chance to be a mother, a friend and someday a wife You were a beloved mother and a the best of friends, I know you will greet us once more, this isnt the end But Im on my knees, God, Im only a man I hurt, I am bitter, I cant grasp this plan So in silent tears tonight Ill kneel, to pray once again For understanding and courage for all of your friends For all who knew you and all of those that you loved As you watch us tonight from your place up above I know that each night as Payton lies down to sleep Youll be right next to her, singing, even when she weeps I know that youre eternal, that youll always be there As she develops your smile, your laugh and your hair Well tell her how much you loved her, we wont let her wonder How she loved to hear you sing, how much she loved her mother Well tell her it isnt over; shell know that her mother still sings That her mother is beautiful as ever, and that now she has wings We may never understand why it was your time to go But I am thankful for the one thing that I do know Youll hold her and guide her even though she cant see That Paytons Angel is beside her and always will be. |
