About Me    

I'm Joanne Gilbert, and this school year I'm subbing in elementary and middle schools in Plymouth-Canton. I graduated with high distinction in April from the University of Michigan-Dearborn with a Bachelor of Arts from the School of Education, with a double major in Mathematics and Social Studies. Currently I attend Wayne State and am pursuing a Masters of Education in Mathematics. I hope to attain a full time teaching position as soon as possible.

     Fun Stuff About Me    

I'm not American! I'm from England, and grew up there until I was nearly eleven. My family and I hope to become citizens soon. I have one younger brother, Paul, who is married and lives in Mt. Pleasant where he attends Central Michigan University. I like to read, listen to music, work/play on the computer, watch movies, do sudoku and kakuro puzzles, and take care of my pets. I can usually be found at Starbucks on a Friday or Saturday night hanging out with my best friend Susie, who I've known since high school. I love teaching, and it's all I've ever wanted to do. I have worked in child care centers since high school, and love working with preschoolers. I regularly baby-sit for some of my past preschoolers (many of who now are in elementary school!). Books play a big part in my life and I own hundreds of books. There is always a pile of books somewhere, usually on my desk! --->
