Have you ever noticed an extremely over-usage of words each year? I like to say its the 'word of the year'. I remember a couple of years back, 'dood' was really in. I mean, it might sound normal coming from young people, but when you have a 30's something person addressing a 40's something me, with, 'hey dood, check out that car'....well......

I thought I'd highlight the word I've found to be over-used this year as 'debacle', but I have since changed my mind. I think the most out-lived word in California has to be: hella. I remember over 10 years ago, talking to someone from Cali, and them using the word hella, and I had to ask them what it meant. (remember, I was still in my 30's, haha)

So, according to the Urban Dictionary, hella may/might mean:

Hella. Originated from the streets of San Francisco in the Hunters Point neighborhood. It is commonly used in place of "really" or "very" when describing something. Check out:
