| Here's alittle info about my trip to South Korea and have to say that I had a great time. I'll try to explain the details of my trip as well as post up some pictures... 12-11-00 Me and my friend Chucky caught the the plane and started on our way to Korea via Korean Airlines. We had to make a stop in Anchorage Alaska to refuel during out grueling 15 journey to Seoul. I have to mention that the service on Korean Airlines was excellent. As we neared Alaska we could see on the in flight display that it was -65f !! (Then I realized we were at 39,000 ft. and doing about 600 mph) After landing in Anchorage (-2f or -20f) we noticed the rest area was pretty small containing a mall and some displays containing local artifacts and historical information. The view from the large windows around the airport rest area is amazing. It's surrounded by huge purple mountains capped with snow. I just started the video camera and started walking around the windows as soon as I saw this. Also, there is a display with the biggest stuffed bear I ever saw, I was explaining to Chucky "Thats a Grizzly..." but after closer examination the plaque described it as being an extrordinary huge black bear... wow.! This is a must see if you ever have to make a stop in Alaska. Suprisingly they served Korean food at the airport so we decided to have a quick bowl of udon noodles before we jumped back in the plane. During the flight we discovered that it's pretty uncomfortable to sleep upright and I noticed the professionals kick off thier shoes, leave thier seat and move to the center seats of the plane, lift up all the armrests and make a bed out of a line of seats. I didn't take long for me to do the same making time pass by a little faster as I snored away. Chucky was already slobbering all over the window when I got up so I figured he looked comfortable and I'd leave him that way, haha...! 12-12-00 We arrived at Kimpo International Airport in Seoul, South Korea at 6:40pm Korean Air Flight 082 in "Sin Chon" or Seoul City. Once we landed we were greeted by Chucky's girl Jenny. She drove a few hours from her home town Teagu City to pick us up and bring us to a motel. Along the way we were opening our eyes to the sights of a new landscape and amzed by things that were not familiar such as different cars, the way people drive, the lights and places, it was like being in a different world, or at least one that was different. Once we arrived at the motel we got rooms and settled in. I went to the bathroom and found myself standing in a puddle of water in front of the sink as I brushed my teeth. I asked Jenny that I had a problem and she told me thats how it works in most places in South Korea. There is a drain in the middle of the floor and the sinks runs all over it. I said, "OK, as long as the toilet doesn't work that way I'll be just fine. 12-13-00 The next morning we went to the Korean Folk Town. I apologize for not having more information on the place but I can describe it as being an old style village where people lived the old fashioned way in huts, with dirt streets, farms, rice paddies, and a kind of touristy atmosphere. The place was quite large and we couldn't see it all in a day. We took lots of pictures and witnessed people performing old style dance. A movie was being shot on location and we got to take pictures with some of the actors. After that we went back to Jenny's hometown Daegu City to stay over her sisters house and meet her family. 12-14-00 Went to a seafood market in a small fishing village called Kyong Ju City. We selected fresh fish, squid, and sea urchin that was prepared in front of us to make a delicious sushi lunch that we ate with soju (rice whisky) on a beautiful jetty overlooking the ocean. 12-15-00 We visited the American Embassy to for an interview for Jenny to prepare for her to come back to America someday. As of now, she is still waiting for her paperwork to clear. It's said that the paperwork takes 380 days !!! I guess things are slower in Korea than we once had thought 12-16-01 Went with Jenny's family to Uoo Bong Land amusement park in Daegu City. Then we stayed the night at Jenny's sisters house again 12-17-00 we went to Palgong Mountain with Jenny's sister Young Joo. While on the mountain we visited the big temple called Dong Wha Sa and we took a sky train to eat in a diner at the top of the mountain with an incredible view. 12-18-00 We left for Pusan City where we met Jenny's friend Inno, ate sushimi in a very nice resturant, and spent one night in the city. 12-19-00 We took a 45 minute hydroplane ferry from Pusan City to Kue Jae Island and visited Moondong Waterfall, which by the way didn't have much waterfall this time of year. We spent that night in a motel on island. 12-20-00 We took a boat ride from Kuejea island to Wae Doo Island which was the place of beautiful botanical gardens where we took alot of pictures and video. Chucky and Jenny made me sick to my stomach because they were hanging all over each other so much... They are so in love... Back to Pusan city to spend the night. 12-21-00 Went back to Daegu City again with Jenny's friend Inno to take her back to see some of her family. On the way home we visited the Marine Products Market in Pusan. We saw amazing varieties of sea life and tons of things to eat. Anything alive in the sea was for sale and was such a large place. Once back in Daegu City we spent one night at Yeong Joos home. 12-22-00 We went to Sin Chon City (Seoul) to spend the night before we prepared to pack up for our flight home. 12-23-00 Me and Chucky said our goodbyes and boarded our flight back to America. We left at 5:50pm on Korean Air flight 085 to alaska and back to JFK international Airport in New York. |

| While visiting the Korean Folk Town there was a movie being shot on location. Here I took a pic with one of the actors who I'm told is famous for being in those crazy Kung-Fu movies I grew up watching and loving as a kid on Channel 29 Sunday Kung-Fu Theater... Geez, I miss that stuff... |
