BBQ match
glue
2 tablespoons of gunpowder
plastic straw
strike match paper
Some lid from a  jar (pickle jar, peanut butter lid)
Construction
1. Drink the pop and let the can dry
2.Take a long BBQ match and place it in a straw with striking end even with one end of the straw and the other end of the match protruding 1.5 inches out the other end of the staw.
3.Take the paper that the match strikes against and roll it into a small cone with a slit through it so the match can go through and fasten it to the end of the straw with glue.
4.Glue the straw to the inside of the can with the cone about 1/4 inch from the bottom of the can. The other end of the straw should be even with the top of the can with 1.5 inches of the match protruding above the cans top.
5. Lightly crumple 3 balls of paper so they are 1.5 inches in diameter and can easily sit on top of the can.
6. Now poor 2-3 tablespoons of gunpowder into the can.
7. Set the lid on top of the can as shown in diagram.
Placement
When placing this imitation land mine, you need to keep three things in mind. 1. Will anyone step on this? 2. Is it Noticable? 3. Can I watch the whole thing happen from a hidden area nearby?  It's best to place it on a well traveled path, that has long grass or lots of weeds.  It's also best to have some bushes or trees nearby so you can watch it happen to your victim.  Dig a hole the size of your pop can plus 1.5 inches so that the lid is even with the ground. Place your land mine into the hole and desgiuse it with things such as grass or leaves to make it invisible.  A good location can mean the difference between waiting a few minutes, or a few weeks.  Sit back and enjoy.
