Tale of the Traveler

He thinks he is slick, his mysteries thick
He thinks I dont know, but I know where he goes
Wherever he hides, nearby I reside
He thinks he can run, but the chase is too fun
Oh where do you go, Mr. Unknown?
Your business its not, so its best you forgot
Nevertheless, I know where you rest
Is that a threat? Youll be sorry we met
And away he strolled towards the city so old
Follow I did, but safely I hid
Behind him I was, to see what he does
Quickly he spun, and saw what Id done
Why follow me so, to learn where I go?
I follow you not, I simply forgot
Forgot what indeed, you think Ive not seen?
Think what you will, I have things unfulfilled
With that he left, and left me bereft
More careful I must be, so that he cant see
That I shadow his road to find secrets untold
But lose me he did, while I crawled and I hid
Where did you go, Mr. Unknown?
Too far have I chased, to be lost in my haste
Me you wont find, as long as Ive pined
For I will be far, before awake you are
I awoke with head bruised, he is crafty, I mused
But never will I fear for I know he is near
He thinks I dont know, but I know where he goes
Onward I rode, knowing what I knowed
Found you at last, you beast from the past
Come then, if you will, but this girl will be killed
Your treachery aside, she has already died
From your games I grow tired, your folly has ired
With that I attacked, wielding the sword I had packed
He came now, too quick, my side he had nicked
With claws inhumanly edged, as I ran toward the ledge
He seemed more beast than man, which altered my plan
It takes silver to fell, and Wolfsbane as well
You have neither of those underneath you clothes
Ah but I do, and they wait for you
For you its too late, youll see on a later date
With that I lunged, and my silver sword plunged
Into his flesh it sank, and to the gods I gave thanks
At last the beast knew defeat, as it squirmed at my feet
Its treacheries gone to the memory of song
But the end of the tale is not yet, for a worse fate I have met
The wound I can no longer feel, but it has never healed
One thing I can tell you, and yes it is true
The claw of the beast beware, or like him you will fare.
