Admit your spiritual need, "I am a sinner."
Maybe you already believe in God, haven't killed anyone, and all that? Why should you care about salvation? First of all, there's no such thing as a "good person." God says in Romans 3:23 that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." We are all separated from God by sin - until we ask Jesus into our hearts. Secondly, it isn't enough to just believe there is a God. Jesus said that unless you are "born again," you cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3). Being "born again" means more than just believing that Jesus Christ/God exists - it means asking Jesus into your heart by faith, totally relying on what He did on the cross for you. He has forgiven all of your sins.
You're a "bad person"? You might be thinking that there's no way God could forgive you. The truth is, God says in John 6:37 that anyone who comes to Him will not be cast out! Remember that if you could save yourself (by being "good," or becoming a church member, or even by being water-baptized), there would have been no point in Jesus dying on the cross. He died because there is no way you can save yourself.
~- Nobody is perfect. No matter how it may seem. If you think you have to be perfect to be saved, you've been misled. To Admit you have sinned, is the first step to freedom. God will forgive you, His grace is PERFECT. -~
What the Bible Says:
* No one is good-no one in all the world is innocent.
* God treats EVERYONE the same.
* For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard.
* When Adam sinned, sin entered the entire human race. Jesus Christ brought forgiveness to many through God's mercy.
Repent. In other words, be willing to turn from your sin.
~- You don't have to be perfect, and God doesn't expect results overnight. He will help you change. If you slip, He will be there to help you, He won't condemn you for your mistakes. We are all human and He loves us BECAUSE we are human, He only wants you Be Willing! If you are willing, God is able. -~
What the Bible Says:
* God has shown us a different way to heaven - not by being good enough and trying to keep his laws, but by a new way.
*God says He will accept us, and declare us "not guilty" if we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins.
*Heaven will be happier over one lost sinner who returns to God than over ninety-nine others who haven't strayed away.
Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross to take away your sins.
~- I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross, and he arose three days later. He IS ALIVE to this day! He IS alive and he lives in me. -~
What the Bible Says:
* When you believe in your own heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved. It is by believing in your heart that you become right with God.
* No one who believes in Christ will ever be disappointed.
* God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
* God sent Christ Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to end all God's anger against us. He used Christ's blood and our faith as the means of saving us from his wrath.
Receive, through prayer, Jesus Christ into your heart and life.
~- If you ask, you WILL receive. No matter who you are, no matter what you might have done. You will become a NEW PERSON!! God loves YOU so much that He sacrificed His only son to save you. When you receive Jesus into your heart and your life, your sins are forgiven, the slate is wiped clean and God will change you. -~
What the Bible Says:
* Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved..
* Salvation that comes from trusting Christ is already within easy reach of us. It is as near as our own hearts and mouths.
Pray:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my personal Lord and Savior.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
If you ment that with all of your heart, then you are now a born again Christian.
Remember, you're not "religious." Instead, you have a personal, one-on-one relationship with God. You can think of God the Father as your "spiritual dad" (remember He is a good Father). Think of God the Son (Jesus) as your Lord and Savior - as your "best friend." Think of God the Spirit (the Holy Spirit) as the Spirit of God that lives in you. Think about it - God actually wants to live "in you"!
If anyone ever comes to you and asks if you're sure that you're going to Heaven, you can say "yes," because of what Jesus did on the cross! Think about this verse from the Bible, found in 2 Corinthians 5:17. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." Now you can live not by how you "feel," but by who God says you are. God says you are now His son or daughter (Galatians 3:26, 27)!
