Pick a race:
Protoss
Terran
Zerg
Starcraft
Dark Archon Strategy:
Let's talk about a little strategy. When I first played original starcraft, all the races were balanced in the respect of power. I always thought that terran was a little slow to get started though. Anyway, after experiencing broodwar, I have come to the conclusion that the best race is Protoss. This is because of the unit known as the dark archon. Most people have never used them, because they have no offensive ability that can hurt every unit. They have no default attack either. That is why they are overlooked for their great power. The main reason for their strength is the "mind control" ability. You can steal other units this way. Most people say, oh yeah, I steal another race all the time. Thats not what I am talking about. Even if you steal another race, you are still stuck within the supply limit, and it takes way too long to get started. What I am saying, is your ally is your "producer." His sole purpose is to produce units for you. The only effective unit to steal one at a time this way is battlecruisers. If you want ground units, put them in a shuttle, dropship, or an overlord first. Then mind control the shuttle, and you get the shuttle and all the units in it. You can use this to go way over the supply limit. Good units to put in shuttles to steal include: 4 goliaths, 4 dark templar, 2 ultralisks, 2 reavers, 2 archons, 4 high templar.
When you steal most units, you do not get to keep the upgrades. I think that if you steal a drone or a scv, you keep its upgrades, and they are applied to your other units as well. Either way, you can get way past the supply limit doing this. Imagine what your enemies would say when you came in with 50-100 battlecruisers. Or even better, in a long game, imagine what they would think after 200 shuttles flew over their base and dropped 800 dark templar in their base. What would you think? Even in a base surronded by cannons, 200 shuttles are not gonna die anytime soon. Neither are 800 dark templar. Warning: There is a limit of units that can be produced. There can only 1600 something units on the map at a time. Avoid super money maps like fastest shared bases with that big mineral cluster and other maps like SD MONEY and The Best Map Ever, because minerals count as units. Play a standard BGH with good minerals. I also do not recommend carriers because 1 carrier with 8 interceptors counts as 9 units, which can use up the limit pretty quick. But, 100 battlecruisers, not even close to the limit, is sure to beat any player, I don't care what kind of strategy they use, arbiters/dragoons/high templar is just going to lack the power that going beyond the supply limit provides.

The main problem with this strategy is defending yourself before building up units. It usually works best in "no rush games." You can have dark templar and dark archons within 10 minutes, while having a few expansions and lots of buildings and starting to upgrade. I usually get about 12 corsairs and 12 dark templar. Then I produce dark archons after I get that done. As soon as a max on dark archons, my ally/producer starts making units for me to steal. While all this is going on, you could find yourself in trouble with another player that comes in with tons of zergling. Dark Archons have a move called "maelstrom." It freezes all "living" units in the general area it was cast for a few seconds. Make your 12 dark templar attack, the zergling, and while they are attacking keep casting maelstrom. Dark Templar kill zergling in 1 hit. They zergling will be dead, quick. Also, I make a "wall" with dark templar at the entrance to my base. If they do not have detection, they units will try to get through, but will be killed by the invisible "wall." They won't be able to get through. If they have detection, kill it with your corsairs. There is one assault that is hard to prevent. Say someone flies in with 60 wraiths and is blowing up your minerals. What do you do about that? It is too costly and slow to mind control each one. Make sure you have observers. By the time someone builds up 60 wraiths, they must have a lot of energy saved up. Dark Archons also have a move called "feedback." It hurts the unit 1 hp for every 1 energy it has. So each wraith that has over 120 energy is killed. Also, it only costs 50 energy, so each dark archons can kill 5 wraiths when fully charged. That is a 10(5 wraiths)-4(1 dark archon) supply ratio. Some units may not die. Mind control them, or have a templar or two on hand- psionic storm kills wraiths quick. Check out the
replay and the pictures below for examples of this strategy.
Stealing shuttles filled with units- note my supplies.
Stealing unsuspecting group of battlecruisers
When attacked by someone with battlecruisers, I simply steal them
Allies congratulate me as I turn 12 attacking enemy battle cruisers into 5 of my own- the other 7 were lost in the battle. Once you steal one, all the enemy ones begin to attack it. When this happens, you keep stealing them as they are distracted. The quicker you are, the less they get hurt by each other.
