Some of the devices used in the old days for pipe/hose repair are still in use today as we speak. Not only that they are hard to use but it also requires a special tool to fasten the straps. When I saw the use of this old devices by other folks, I immediately thought of the ties or clamps I used in my company when I perform repairs for hose and pipe leaks. I have used this "tiewraps" and found that they are much superior to the ones used in some pipe/hose patching, not to mention the ease of used, the time and money save when used at an actual event. This tie wraps are used in conjunction with a patch such as a putty or a rubber pad backed by a steel or hard material for support. This of course is still widely used for any type of repairs. My personal favorite is the one I designed using Velcro;

Other industrial type wire and tie wraps that can be used for emergency pipe repair and training.

ALL this are tie wraps available in the market at a cheap price, most of this heavy duty ones are tensile tested to a minimum of 120 lbs. and some are designed to hold 500 lbs. check out the following tie wraps and the applications that you can think of using;

Fire retardant heavy duty tie wrap. Also have other tie wraps that are for special chemicals—also comes in heavy duty size.

Stainless steel tie wraps, 250 lbs tensile

Above is the type of tie wrap (3/8” wide) that can hold 500 lbs of tensile strength when double wrapped and can be reused again and again. This is the one I recommend for the emergency pipe repair!!

Imagine other possibilities that you can think of when using some of this guys.
