Procedures for Shelving Materials
Fiction
The fiction books are arranged alphabetically by the author's last name. There are nine different sections within the fiction section.
GENERAL PAPERBACKS
The paperback fiction books do not have a call number. The general paperback fiction books do not have a special sticker or they have a blank white sticker (no significance).
ROMANCE PAPERBACKS
The romance paperback books have a special sticker on the spine of the book-Romance.
MYSTERY PAPERBACKS
The mystery paperbacks have a special sticker on the spine of the book-Mystery.
MULTI-CULTURAL PAPERBACKS
The multi-cultural paperbacks have a special sticker on the spine of the book-Multi-cultural.
SCIENCE FICTION PAPERBACKS
The science fiction paperbacks have a special sticker on the spine of the book-Science fiction.
SHORT STORY COLLECTION
The short story books are mainly hard-covered books. The sticker, located on the spine, will be Short Story..
CLASSIC FICTION
The classic fiction books are mainly hard-covered books. The sticker, located on the spine will be "F" and the first three letters of the author's last name.
CHILDREN'S LITERATURE
These books also have a special sticker on the front of the book. The sticker read "Children's Literature." This section is one shelf at the end of the Classic Fiction section.
EZ-ESL FICTION
The EZ/ESL books are found on the carousel in the corner of the fiction section. Each slot on the carousel has a letter. The books are organized alphabetically by the author's last name.
PLEASE NOTE: After shelving a book, check the order and straighten all the books on that entire shelf. This way you are tidying the ntire shelf and helping to keep out library neat and orderly.
MAGAZINES
Current issues of magazines are place in the magazines carousel outside Ms. Borda's office. The individual racks have the name of the magazine. An adult volunteer will out the back issues of the magazines away in the magazine room. You do not need to remove any magazine from the carousel. Please note that Teen People magaznie are not put in the carousel (even if they are old ones. Teen People are kept in the back office. Students must specifically ask to see those magazines while they are in the library. If you come across an old magazine please place it on the magazie carousel. As mentionned an adult volunteer will put the older issues in the magazine room.
Videos
Videos are found on the south wall as well as the inner library office. Only certain videos are shelved in the main part of the library. They are:
A  CBC News in Review         These videos are arranged by month and date.
     News Brief 
     Canadian Video News
B. Some A & E videos            These videos are arrranged by number.
