A webquest by Jennifer Kraemer

Task: There is a question next to each koala. Read the question, then click on the koala to see the website that will help you answer it. Write the answer on your "Australia Culture Worksheet".

Click on "Audio" and listen to the Australian National Anthem. Then find the link for "Waltzing Matilda", in the middle of the page marked "Origins", and listen to that song. Which song do you like best? Why? Write the answer on your worksheet.

Play the Currency Exchange Game. At this website, click on the Australian flag to choose Australia as your country. Record your game score on the worksheet.

Look at the pictures of Australian landmarks. Which one would you most like to visit? Why? Write the answer on your worksheet.

Listen to the sounds of the didgeridoo, a traditional Australian instrument. What does the didgeridoo sound like? Complete the sentence on your worksheet.

Click on "Sing-A-Long" and listen to the vegemite song. What does the song make you think about? Write the answer on your worksheet.

What is a boomerang? What is it used for? Write the answers on your worksheet.

When you are finished: Send a digital postcard to your teacher at [email protected]. Tell her the most interesting thing you learned about Australia today.
