Shadow came to us in September of 1988. My mom found him under her car at work. She thought he looked like our old cat Midnite so she brought him home to my dad. Shadow was a great cat and very loving from the start. He would let you do anything to him. I used to dress him up in doll clothes when I was a child. He didn't mind! He was fun to play with.

Shadow was our only outdoor cat. He always used to run out the door whenever it was open long enough. But he always came back. He liked to spend his time climbing the drapes, sleeping or eating and then prowling around outside. One night after one of his outdoor romps he came home with a sore on his face. It started small but as he kept going outside and scratching at it, it became worse and soon it was a large hole in his face. It was about as big as a pencil eraser and it was pretty deep. Mom and I would take turns every night cleaning the wound with peroxide and putting gobs of antibiotic ointment into the hole. He just sat there and let us do this to him. He must have known we were helping him. After a few weeks the sore healed up and he was good as new. Except he did have a permanent scar on the left side of his face. We never found out how he managed to get such a sore on his face.

Now he is pretty old for a cat. He likes to sleep all day and he still enjoys his daily outdoor escapades. He is a little hard of hearing now and his eyesight isn't as good but he is still the same loving cat he always was.
