Toward the language of the
globalization
Behind the automatic treatment of the words there is a mighty industry
that, although does not carry out means covers, moves thousands of million
dollars. Electronic publications, systems of information management, tools of
writing, translations… are the fruit of their work. But their challenges in the
Society of the Information, now widely dominated by the English, are almost
infinite.
In the Globalization Era
there is a language, the English that removes chest as opposed
to all the others. So much by its number of speaking like by its enormous
economic power prevails. In addition, a great percentage of the scientific and
technical production is born in Anglo-Saxon territory (or they produce it in
English native of other countries, displaced people or no, who know that in
their language their texts will not have he himself echo) and the terms that it
generates they penetrate almost without resistance in all the cultures.
The “New Economy” professional
that is not, at least, bilingual does not conceive itself; and that between the
languages in which he is able to communicate is not the English. The planetary
conquest of the English fight against the national currents that try to harness
the own culture and the language, with the academies that prop up their
language to preserve it of the barbarism, with the idiomatic mixtures that the
emigration causes, with the Asian giants (Chinese and India) that only with
their population locate their language between the most spoken of the planet… The
English dominates with comfort, but in its language the world does not finish.
In Internet the specific weight of the
English is multiplied. Until an 80% of the content of the pages of the Network
it is written in the language of Shakespeare, data that hits the percentage
(around 50%) of English speaking internet users. But as it wants that nobody is
arranged to lose the train of the New Economy, the governments make more or
less important efforts so that their countries are present in the network of
networks, so that contents in their language exist not only, but produced by
and for their culture.
The linguistic abyss of the Network is a social
problem and an institutional fight. Within the three basic points of the
conception of the European Union it is the equality of opportunities for all
the citizens and the respect by the cultural differences. The fact that the
scientific documentation is only in English, causes that an enormous inequality
