| Perform the work: Raise energy by drumming, chanting what ever feels comfortable to you. Ridding yourself of negative energy: Rid yourself of any unwanted energy so that you may concentrate on the task at hand. With Dragon's blood ink (or red ink pen) write that thing which is holding you back at that time. Using the Goddess Candle, burn that paper and envision that energy leaving the circle as the paper burns. Place the paper in a fireproof container on your altar. (A small iron cauldron works nicely.) Reciting the Charge of the Goddess: The Charge of the Goddess (Doreen Valient) Hear ye, the words of the star Goddess She in the dust of whose feet, are the hosts of heaven, whose body encircles the universe. I am the beauty of the green Earth and the white moon among the stars And the mystery of the waters And the desire of the heart of man. Call unto thy soul, arise and come unto me For I am the soul of nature Who gives life to the universe From me all things proceed and to me all things must return And before my face, beloved of Gods and men Let thine innermost divine self Be unfolded into the rapture of the infinite Let my worship be within the heart That rejoices, for behold all acts of Love and Pleasure are my rituals. And therefore let there be beauty and strength, Power and compassion, honor and humility, Mirth and reverence within you. Thou who thinkest to seek for me, Know thy seeking and yearning shall avail thee not unless Thou knowest the mystery If that which thou seeketh Thou findest not within thee, Thou wilt never find it without thee. For behold I have been with thee From the beginning and I am that Which is attained at the end of desire. Drawing Down the Moon Using your chalice of wine, hold the cup in two hands over your head and facing the full moon. In your own words, ask the Goddess to send her energy into your chalice, down through your arms and into your being. Feel the energy radiate in, through and around you. Dance, chant, and drum to feel and celebrate that radiant energy. Use that energy to perform any work that you may want to be done that night. Channel appropriately into your workings. Ground the Energy When you have finished performing your work, it is important to ground the excess energy. A good way to do this is the yoga "child's pose". Curled in a ball, with your seat on your heals and your legs slightly open, rest your head upon the floor. Stretch you arms on the floor over your head and feel the excess energy sinking from your body into the earth below. |
