Introduction

So you think you may want to study Witchcraft, but you don't know who you can ask, have no resources in your area, or maybe you simply just don't know where to begin? This is the place for you! I'm going to begin by telling you that the greatest thing about this spiritual path is that nobody can tell you what is best for YOU! Be your own priestess, priest, guru. You may read many books that tell you this thing or that, but once you begin, you realize that there really is no right or wrong way. I'm going to recommend that for the first year and a day (the traditional term of study before initiation) you read, read, read, everything you can get your hands on. Then, pick and choose what feels right to you.

Studying the craft is a life changing course of action. It changes your perceptions of the world around you by bringing you closer to God, Goddess, spirit, life force or what is known in Greenwitchcraft as "The Power". You will discover through your reading that there are many, many branches along this path, that is many "Traditions" within the religion just as there are many "denominations" within the religion of Chrisitanity. This course of study will not get into these different traditions, you can find information on those in many of the Craft books available to you. I will also not be giving you lessons on the history of Witchcraft as once again, much is written in that area that I do not need to rewrite. I will however provide a list of reading materials which can answer questions you may have in those areas. What I intend to do here is to awaken the senses to the possibilities available to you so that you may begin to create your own way.

Once again,  read, read, read. Everything you can get your hands on. From this study you should only take what suits your spiritual needs and leave the rest.  This course will contain 12 lessons with spiritual exercises assigned in each lesson to give you a focal point, and a list of recommended reading material.

Welcome to the world of Witchcraft.
