A cry in the night

The night is quiet and lonely. Twinkling stars and a silver moon are lighting up the sky. Slow little clouds float through the sky like lazy little sheep.
Nightlife starts now,

Predators are looking for a prey, and little creatures are searching on the groud for plants and seeds, trying to avoid the hunters.

The cry of a young woman suddenly disturbs the silent night. She is crying in pain, screaming for someone to help her, begging to be heard.
The nightlife is cruelly disturbed. The little animals flee to their warm safe homes, desparately hunted down by the predators.

A second cry breaks through the night, why won't anybody help me! I need someone...please help...
Nobody hears her cries, nobody will come and help, nobody cares.

The nightlife slowly restores itself. A soft breeze blows over the field as the little ones crawl out of their hiding places again to be hunted by others.
Still they have to find food, just like the predators.
They have to live and take care of their young ones.
They will have to do it alone.
Nobody will help them.
September 11th: faces in the dust

The images are etched in my memory
A man looking for his eldest daughter
A woman desparately trying to get attention
Her child is missing

A normal street in a normal city
A normal beginning of a normal day
A normal building woth normally working people
A normal district woth normal business

A newsflash with disturbing news
A call of distress from a hijacked plane
A signal of dispair to many families
An act of death and hatred

A normal street in a normal city
Changing in the blink of an eye
A warzone in a crying country
People missing, people dead

More images are flashing by
A woman covered in blood and dust
People running for their lives
Someone jumping to a certain death

Where does hatred come from
What does it do to us
Why do people hate each other
Why do people die
Reflections of a friend

Tidal waves are crashing ashore
Dragging along a piece of my mind
Whirlwinds are raging, pulling
Blowing away the last bit of reality
Two steel swords are being crossed
In eternal battle between pleasure and pain

A peaceful lake in a forest
A seabird roaming through the sky
A mortally wounded person
The innocense of a child

Seeing your eternity
Reflected in black and blue
I know a piece of me died there
When I looked into your eyes
