Yellowhorse
(Ottershagen)

She stood in the desert
by the road
waiting for the bus to unload
Her table covered by jewelry and stones
and artifacts made of bones

To protect her from the heat
they set up a teepee
and inside sleeps her two babies
A cooler kepps the coke cold
just another thing she might get sold

At noon arrives her husband
he brings gramma with him
in the van
picks up the money
unloads some goods
drives her home
to cook some food

I saw her as I passed by
witnessed the sadness
in her eyes
I kept driving on for a while
then I saw this big sign
Chief Yellowhorse says "Come back"
Yellowhorse says "Turn around"
"Friendly Indians Behind you
They want to share their pride with you"
