Monument V
(Ottershagen)
In a foreign land
I saw the future arrive
carried by winds
from which I could not hide

A messenger of fortune
bringer of the tides
and his sheer appearance
made the desert com alive
I was expecting a Shaman
of mystery and Pride
but to my great surprise
he wore a shirt and tie

He wore a gold tuxedo
a cigar and a grim smile
He opened up his suitcase
and he looked me in the eye
Take a look around
as they harvest off the ground
the sons of pioneers
and the dreams thay've found
take a look at the natives
in their basic settlemenst
out in Cadillac Desert
I have placed their monument
These monuments were here
before the Anasazi came
long before the Hopi
made the plateaus to their place
And after the last Navaho
and mobile home have left
the monuments come to life
while civillisation rests
Behold the damms
that drowns the land like a tide
Behold the pipelines
that makes rivers flowing dry
Behold the wires
brings daylight to the night
Behold the desert
the coyotes gruesome cry
Beware the settler
laying the lowland waste
Beware the the gunman
pulls the trigger in a haste
Beware the tourist
and his lack of taste
Beware the future
from this sacred place
Tell me now
what I have become
and whether my faith  is to just carry on
I bleed for the ones that I love
These days a bleeding heart just ain't enough
Tell me now, what I have become
and whether my faith is to just carry on
I bleed for the ones that I love
these days a bleeding heart just ain't enough
continue...
