| Round 2 VS Como Jannali Loss 1st Innings - Como 7/234 - Magpies 148 Day 1: Loss the toss and Como batted, starting with a solid opening partnership before losing their first wicket with a bueatiful run out involving Fenno, Liam and Pat. At Drinks Como 1/98. After drinks Brett McHugh took a blinder in from of his parents from the boundary and then several wickets fell. Como in deep trouble at 5/127.Then the wheels fell off in a big way. Again we showed our lack of ability of closing down teams with accurate bowling and supportive fielding. Allowing Como to put on 234 for 7. Including 70 run of the last 10 OVERS!!! This was very very disappointing, average bowling, poor fielding, even poorer application, and ordinary bowling rotation resulting in us having a big chase on Day 2. Day 2: Putting last week behind us we got off to an unlucky start losing Brett(1). In the second over Orry LBW after looking ok at the crease. Liam (15) , Pat (1) and Gosper (11) who was bowled at the last ball before drinks having us in deep trouble at 4/22. After the drinks break some nice cricket from Girds (33) the first time in the season he showed some form with the bat, his application shows up what he can achieve when you value your wicket and good concentration. Lars (18) looks the good before yorking himself and then the shining light of the day was from Elvis - Sammo - The King - Jeremy Ng scored a very nice 42 with lofted drives, hooks, pull shots and cut shots, and a classy knock indeed sacrificing his wicket with 10 overs to go. All in all we feel short of the target by scoring all out for 148. Tim Lloyd also looking the goods staying in and scoring 9 not out. Fellas we can learn from that defeat: 1: We must tighten the screws when we have teams in trouble. Bowlers Notes:must be line and length. 2: Catching and fielding is so IMPORTANT. 3: Support the captain - more talk and fielding changes. Como played us out of the break in this area. 4: Ng is King - The Boy can Bat - particularly when he is not jumping around like Michael Jackson.
