MIRAMICHI RIVER CRUISERS
NEWSLETTER

FEBRUARY 2003
By Brenda Goguen

Hello and welcome to 2003!

The Miramichi River Cruisers are planning lots of events in the upcoming months. Here are the highlights:

Regular monthly meeting dates. Remember it's always the second Sunday of the Month.
February 9
March 9
April 13
May 11
June 8

On February 22, the Miramichi River Cruisers are planning a Pot-Luck-Sing-Song at Anthony Allain's camp. This will be the 3rd time that the gang gathered around the wood stove, singing good ole' country and folk songs, after enjoying a big feed of some of the best home cooking ever made!! Lasagna, baked beans, chili, stews, home-made bread and rolls and the desserts… Well… you can simply forget the diets this weekend, because they are all too good to pass up. Do I have your mouths watering yet?

2003 is election year for the Miramichi River Cruisers and this will take place during March's meeting. Positions to be voted on are President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. Let's hope the members of the Miramichi River Cruisers will show their support and participate in the election.

April is Membership Appreciation Night. This is also a Pot-Luck supper which will be held after the regular monthly meeting. This is simply a fun get-together and meant to get ourselves all hyped up and ready for Spring. It's been a long cold winter and everyone is anxious to get out the antiques (vehicles that is) and start cruisin'. As this is also Mother's Day, it's a great time to take Mom out for the evening to relax and socialize with other car guys and gals.

In May the Miramichi River Cruisers will host the 3rd Annual Spring Splash! On the 24th we will meet at a designated area and go for a nice long cruise, stop somewhere for supper, and then cruise on home. The route is still in the early planning stage and full details will be posted as soon as everything is finalized.

The Miramichi River Cruisers will host their 6th Annual Show & Shine Car Show on June 8, 2003. The Car Show Committee is currently being formed and members of the Club are encouraged to participate. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Car Show Committee, please contact President Ron Landry or myself.

Well folks, that's the plans so far for the next few months. Check back with us next month and I'll fill you in how the Camp-Pot-Luck-Sing-Song went at Anthony's. I'll also try to keep you updated on future events. Talk to you soon, and thanks for checking out the web-site.

PS To all Club members - If your picture is not on our site, please give us a photo and we'll put it on. If you don't have a picture, let us know and we'll meet you somewhere with our digital camera and take a few shots. I'm also looking to do interviews with all you members. So come on, co-operate with me and let me make you famous for the proverbial 15 minutes. It won't hurt, I promise.

People complain that the Web-site is updated, if I don't have any different or new items (ie: pictures, jokes, events, classifieds, etc…) to put on, there is nothing to update. We can only do so much, so give us a hand. Thanks.
