| All for Nothing Part 1 Chapter 4 Disclaimer: My name is not Akira Toriyama so therefore, I do not own DragonBall Z. *** Last time on DragonBall Z... Pun off Cartoon Network, sorry! Is anyone watching the Buu Saga that's airing on Cartoon Network's Toonami? Damn - Gohan is HOT! Anyways... I think that these chapters are going to be getting shorter because I sit down, write one part, and want to post it already. Oooh! Gohan's on the screen. I must say that black underthing that Gohan wears from the Saiyaman outfit is really, really... ... nice! <evil grin> ALL FOR NOTHING CHAPTER 4 Gohan sighed and rolled over in his sleep as Christine slipped out of bed. Feel like I need some fresh air Gohan awoke and watched Christine walk out of the room. Any day now their baby was due, and Gohan was nervous and excited at the same time. They had only begun sleeping together after the wedding, but ever since Gohan had known Christine was pregnant he had stayed up late to watch her sleep, only to leave early in the morning so that she wouldnt find him staring at her. Gohan rose from the bed, slipping on a black shirt that matched the boxers he was already wearing. He found Christine outside sitting on the lawn. Youll catch a cold, he said, sitting beside her. Its the middle of May, Gohan, I doubt it. How do you feel? Gohan asked, rubbing her arm. Like a cow, Christine replied, laughing. Though by the looks of it I wont for much longer. Gohan nodded. Im so nervous, he said, smiling. And Im not even the one who has to do any work! Christine smiled back at him. Im not nervous about the babys birth, but what comes after. I guess Ill just have to put my hope in tomorrow, and pray for better days to come. Gohan frowned, I believe a writer somewhere back in history said that you shouldnt do that. Do what? Put your hope in tomorrow. Christine smiled. Yeah, but when youre the hope, Gohan, I can believe anything. That writer didnt know you. All was quite for a few minutes, when Gohan spoke. Chris, I just want you to know that I'd give up anything for you and our unborn child... anything. You're the most precious thing to me, and the one thing that can't be missing from my life. It would kill me. This feeling I have for you is so much more than anything I have ever felt before, and I can't wait for her to be born because I know I'll feel the same way about her. You're my angels, my two miracles. I found something of myself in you, and I don't want to let that go and I wont, I will not lose either of you. He ran his hand through her hair. I promise to protect youalways. Christine looked up at him and allowed herself to rest her weight on his arm and shoulders, sighing. I believe it, Gohan, I believe it. They sat in silence for a few more minutes. Christine cleared her throat. Gohan? Hm? Is it any different having Saiyan babies? I dunnoI dont think so. Gohan glanced at her, with her eyes shut, leaning against him. Chris, do youregretthat Im half-Saiyan? No. Never. Youre more human than anyone I know. And you know its true. She looked up at him and he stared back at her. He brought his head down towards hers Ow! Christine exclaimed. What? Nothing- false alarm What do you mean by that? Chris?! Gohan sat up straight. Chris! Christine held her belly. Its nothing. But even as she said it Gohan ran into the house. Mom! Mom! Seven hours later Gohan paced the living room, still in his pajamas, as Trunks watched. In the other room, Gohan could hear Christine's screams of effort every time she had another contraction. Bulma walked out of the bedroom. How is she? Gohan asked immediately. Fine, Gohan, fine. The door was open and Gohan could hear Christine's straining louder now. As a matter of fact, its almost time. Gohan ran into the bedroom and over to Christine, who had her eyes shut and beads of sweat over her forehead and neck. Chris, Gohan said, pulling the hair out of her face and retying it in a ponytail. Youre doing a great job. You dont need to tell me that now. Gohan laughed and grabbed her hand, she took it quickly. He squeezed it, Im right here and Im not going to leave. You told me that before. Christine squeezed back on his, her face contorting in a look of pain. Mom, Bulma, is she suppose to be in this much pain? Can't I do something? Anything? Dont worry, Gohan, Bulma replied. Shell be just fine. Christine screamed. Chi-Chi lifted her head up, The babys coming now! Bulma patted Gohan on the shoulder. Itll all me over in a minute, she promised. Gohan looked at Christine and shut his eyes. No, youre wrong there Bulma, itll all be just beginning. Soon, a babys cry was heard. Chi-Chi wrapped the child in a blanket and carried a beautiful baby over to Christine. Its a girl, she said, handing her to Christine. Didnt I tell you, Gohan whispered. Shes so small. So delicate. Christine nodded. Bulma smiled as she said, Well give you two a minute alone, and excused herself and Chi-Chi. Both parents had tears running down their face. I cant believe it Christine said, trailing off. We made her Gohan began, finding himself at a loss for words as well. Christine looked up at Gohan with her bright blue eyes, and kissed him. She has your eyes, Gohan remarked. All babys eyes are blue when theyre born. Hers are going to stay that way, though, Gohan argued. Christine smiled, Alright. Gohan continued to look on with awe. Shes so beautiful Shes so strong just like her mother. just like her father. They both laughed. What are we going to name her, Chris? Gohan asked. Chris looked down at the girl, I have no idea, you? Gohans eyebrows knitted together in thought. Oh, cmon Gohan, youve known it was a girl all along! Dont you have something in mind? Gohan shook his head. Ive been running through names since I knew and none sound special. I guess we'll just have to find one that she likes. Chi-Chi entered the room. Christine is there anything youd like to have for dinner? Christine smiled, I dont care, Im a little dazed right now. Chi-Chi nodded knowingly, Okay, leave it to me, Ill make something you enjoy. You always do. Chi-Chi turned to leave, but stopped. Do either of you know where my small frying pan is? I wanted to make- The baby giggled. Gohans eye lit up. What did you just say, mom? I said: Does any one know where my pan is, I wan- The girl giggled again. Thats it! What? PAN! The baby continued its sounds of laughter. Chi-Chi frowned, Pan what? Son Pan! Christine smiled, Kami, I think Gohans right, the baby loves the name! She turned her attention to the girl. Pan? You like that name? Pan. Chi-Chi put her hands on her hips. Youre right! Who would have thought. Christine looked up at Gohan. That was easier than I thought. She smiled. Here, Gohan, hold your daughter Pan. Gohan gently took the baby in his arms. Am I doing this right? He asked. Chi-Chi nodded, trying to suppress her laughter at her sons curious look. Pan, he said softly. Panny. Hi. Gohan giggled. Shes so cute! Chi-Chi burst out laughing as Bulma entered. The strong muscular man holding the tiny baby was the most adorable thing shes ever seen. He looks and acts so much of Goku poor Chi-Chi, shes probably constantly reminded of him. Gohan rocked the baby back and forth. He looked up eagerly at Chi-Chi, Bulma and Christine. Ha! I mean- I- Well- Gohan stopped trying to talk and opted to laugh instead. Pan-ny, Pan-ny, he sang, and the baby giggled louder. Her little hand gripped Gohans shirt in a tight ball and pulled on it. She loves her daddy! My daughter! He looked over at Christine and sat by her. Our daughter! Its just- just- Christine was laughing so hard along with the other two moms. Just too much for you to handle at one time, huh, Gohan? Bulma asked, joking. Maybe! He responded, carefully handing Pan back to Christine as if she were a porcelain doll. "Maybe." Next time on DragonBall Z.... Haha!...Sorry... Well, you may think things are looking up but... I'm evil at heart. I don't even like what I have planned.
