If you didn't - just to catch up - Gohan and Christine got kind of...intimate. Enjoy, and on with the fic! ALL FOR NOTHING CHAPTER 3 Gohan flew straight towards the ground, landing outside of his house. Mom? He shouted. Mom? Wheres Chris? Chi-Chis voice rose up from within the house. She went to Capsule Corp. Said it was important. CAPSULE CORP! WHAT could be THAT important? Its a long and VERY dangerous journey. I dont think that- Chi-Chis head popped out of a window. Shell be fine Gohan. That girl has a good head on her shoulders. She paused, shaking a rug out the window. Come to think of it, not to change the subject or anything, but you two have been avoiding each other for the last three weeks! Gohan turned around before his mom could see him blushing at the memory of the day by the river. I dont know where you get that idea from mom. Chi-Chi stared at her son for a moment, then shrugged and went back inside. IM OFF TO TRAIN! Chi-Chi heard Gohan yell. That boy! Christine happily jumped out of the car, pulling her hair out of her face. She capsulized the vehicle and ran into the house. Chi-Chi was sitting at the table reading. Wheres Gohan?! Christine half shouted. Chi-Chi winced. Training. Whats got you so wound up? Christine didnt respond, just looked around the room eagerly. I need to talk to Gohan! Chi-Chi was a little disturbed at her behavior. Are you okay, you look a little would the word be anxious? Are you alright? Christine stopped bouncing in place. Yes!I think so!...No! Maybe! Maybe not!... I dont know! Chi-Chi smiled at Christines antics. She walked over to the window and shouted for Gohan. GOHAN! Gohan opened his eyes and was knocked out of his levitating position. What now?! He sighed and flew home. What? Gohan asked, giving a critical eye to Christine. Chi-Chi sat back down at the table and picked up her book. Chris? He said, watching her clap her hands. Christine stopped clapping, but she still stood there, shaking. Gohan, I dont want to lay this on you or anything but She stopped, trying to control her breathing. Gohan Im pregnant. Gohan froze. Many feelings rose up inside of him, but outwardly he showed nothing. "Did you hear me?" Gohan crumbled to the ground. He was going to have- have- a daughter! Haha! A daughter! He just knew it was going to be a girl! He was going to be a dad! This called for celebrating! But... What life would his baby get? Living in terror and fear until it died in an android attack or from starvation because of lack of supplies? All the more reason to not give up hope. Gohan now knew that everything would be alright, because his daughter was going to live in a peaceful world, marry a nice man, raise a family, and die of natural old age. He was going to make sure of that. Gohan! Chi-Chi yelled in surprise, dropping her book. Gohan attempted to use his legs and when they worked he ran over to Christine who threw herself into his arms, wrapping her legs around his waist. It was one time! One time! He exclaimed. Ha! Im going to be a dad! He felt Christines grip on him tighten as tears began to fall down his face. A dad! He held Christines head in his hands gently, I promise Im going to be by your side the whole time. Im not going to leave you alone like this, okay? I wont go off abandoning you or- Gohan, I know. A smile spread across his face and he kissed her. When they broke away he laughed. Im going to be a dad! He exclaimed again. He looked at Christine with admiration in his eyes and then knelt down on the ground, setting his hand on her belly. "It's too early for that!" "I know, I know, I know, but she's got a small small small ki. Kami! I cant believe I didnt realize it before!" "She?" "Sorry. "You can tell." "No." Then why 'she'? A feeling. Christine smiled. Alright. Chi-Chi sat at the table silently. She held the book up in front of her face, trying to hide her tears. Oh, Goku, if only you could see- see your son today, and- oh, Goku, wherever you are please protect his little family. Please. I dont want to outlive everyone I love I lost you and that was all it took to break my heart. And if I lost Gohan! Or if Christine lost Gohan! He has a baby, Goku! Our son has a baby and Im going to be a grandma and youre going to be a grandpa! Chi-Chi sighed outwardly. Im going to be a dad! Gohan shouted again. "It's been six months," Christine told Bulma over the phone. "And everything's going fine, I'm healthy, the baby's healthy And Gohan? Bulma asked. Gohan freaks out if I so much as break a nail. The two women laughed. That sounds like Gohan though, Bulma stated. Christine heard Bulma shout in the background:Trunks! Trunks! Dont touch that it might explode! I think youd better go Christine began. Yeah, Bye! Bye, Bulma! As Christine hung up the phone Gohan stepped out of the bathroom, drying off his hair. Who was that? Bulma, calling to see how everyone was. Oh. Gohan paused and put the towel down. Hey, Chris, its nice outside, want to go get some fresh air? In the middle of January? Its not that bad, besides I have something I want to show you. Christine walked over to the door and stepped outside, it was rather nice, just barely cold, and there was no wind that tried to eat through her layers of clothing. Sure, lets go. Gohan picked her up and flew for a while, stopping on top of a cliff that overlooked most of the surrounding land. He placed Christine down gently, leaning against a rock. Christine sat next to him and placed her head on his shoulder. "Isn't it beautiful?" Gohan whispered, as the sunset over the land beneath them. Christine nodded and they sat in silence. Im so lucky Gohan; Ive got you, Christine said after a moment. Gohan leaned his head back. Christine. Christine looked up at the sound of her full name. Yes? Christine, I- I dont want to seem like Im doing this for the wrong reasons, like Im doing this just because I- I- well, he pointed at her belly, -you know- Gohan paused for a minute and shook his head. Christine- will you marry me, please? From underneath his gi he pulled out a small box. Christine took it and opened it to find a small gold band. It really isnt much, Gohan said. But I dont really have- Christine held a finger to his lips. Yes. Gohans eyes widened and he smiled as Christine withdrew her hand, giggling. For such a tough guy youre incredibly cute when your like that, she stated, pointing a finger at him. Gohan looked down, laughing at himself. He put his hand on her belly, a habit that had started six months ago and never stopped. Shes going to be strong- her ki is enormous. Christine looked at him, You still think its going to be a girl? I know it is. Keeping one hand on Christines belly, Gohan wrapped his other arm around her shoulder, stopping halfway. She just kicked! Christine laughed, I felt it too. Gohan got a far off look in his eyes and began talking. I keep imagining what her life is going to be like; First of all shes going to be so gorgeous, all the guys are going to stop and look at her, after all, shell take after her mother. Christine smiled and he continued, And shes going to meet a great, sweet, sensitive, caring, handsome- -guy just like her father? Christine finished. -yeah. And neither of them are going to live to fear those damn androids, Gohan said, a wild look in his eyes. Usually he tried to hide this side from Christine but every now and then it showed. Ill see to that. Theres going to be no life like the one I lived for her. Shes going to have a big family and tons of friends. Shell go to the busy cities and travel. Go to the malls, enjoy days at amusement parks, study, get a good job, and live to be so old. Gohan swallowed. And, you know, not have these little worry lines around her eyes like Ive got until shes grown up, like at age 45, not almost 19. Christine imaged it as he said it, and couldnt help but believe him. She knew that he would make that life possible for their child. I can't believe I'm doing this, mom. I'm so nervous. Can I go throw up now? Gohan asked as he fumbled with a tie to no avail. They were outside the Son residence a week later. Gohan had found a minister who could marry them and he had jumped on the chance. Gohan, be quiet, Chi-Chi said as she tied it for him. Bulma, holding Trunks hand, laughed. Gohan shook his head. I AM going to be sick. Christine walked out of the house in a white wedding gown. It was modified, of course, so that it fit to accompany her growing belly. She looked up at Gohan with her blue eyes and then looked away with a smile. Kami, shes beautiful, Gohan stated under his breath. Chi-Chi grinned. I feel underdressed insignificant Gohan shutup, Chi-Chi whispered to him. Mom- she's the most gorgeous thing that ever- Christine was walking out towards them. Chi-Chi elbowed her son and smiled at him, straightened his jacket, and began crying already. Christine walked up to him and he took her hand. During the whole thing Gohan stood there waiting for his line, staring at the beauty beside him. They both exchanged their vows and said their I dos. You may now kiss the bride, The minister said. Gohan turned to Christine. He bent over her belly and raised the veil over her head. Looking into her eyes, he whispered, I love you. Crying out of joy she whispered a barely audible, I love you , too, back. Gohan kissed her tenderly on her lips and wiped away her tears. He put a hand on each one of her arms, Are you okay? He asked. Why are you crying? Is something wrong, do you feel alright? Christine nodded. Through sobs she mumbled, Oh, Gohan, you just make me so happy and- and- Gohan pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and offered it to her, thanking his mom for giving it to him. She didnt notice though and, smiling, Gohan walked around her and hugged her from behind. Im glad I make you happy, he said in a soothing tone, Now, shhhhh. He put his hand over her belly and she laughed. Gohan kissed the back of her neck. Youre beautiful, did I tell you that yet? Afraid that if she talked she would start crying again, Christine nodded. Dont give me that look, Gohan, she whispered. What look? That look you always give me, ever since you met me. Just stop. She said softly. Why? And how can you tell I'm giving you 'the look' if Im behind you? He asked. Cause I fall for you all over again every time I see it. And I can just tell, my heart melts. Gohan laughed and picked her up. Chi-Chi was balling and Bulma was smiling, as well as trying to get Trunks not to run off and eat the first bite of wedding cake. The small cake was set up in the living room and everyone socialized and enjoyed themselves. Right after Gohan and Christine fed each other a piece of cake, Christine grabbed a small handful, throwing it in Gohans face and hair and whispered to him, Thats for splashing me that day! Gohan grabbed a small piece of his and did the same, whispering back, Thats for splashing me back! Laughing and crying, Chi-Chi, Bulma, and even Trunks gave the newlyweds a wish-you-well speech. Well, in the next chapter the nine months are up. Like always R&R. I just posted this so I'm not expecting alot...And thanks for everyone who is reading, even if you don't respond. I love ya all! |
