Hogwarts, the famous school of witchcraft and wizardry, opens its doors again next monday.
As if there wasn't enough already! Little is known about the Headmistress-to-be: Lady Louise Fernell. It is known that her mother, well respected Lady Elise Fernell, was one of the driving forces behind the push for reconstruction. Says Ministry worker Adward Durheim "Elise Fernell? Yes, I remember her. Lovely woman. Good heart. Did a lot of good, helped alot of the less fortunate.." Her daughter, the upcoming headmistress remembers the well known witch fondly. "My mother was a special kind of person.. Sometimes I don't think that I could live up to all the things she did, but she would never have pressured me to. And I'm sure she would have thought I had, even if I hadn't- I am making sense, aren't I?" |
Lady Louise's almost childish humility could put question into peoples minds about whether she is really fit to oversee a school of such renown. Further investigation seems to allay these fears. Respectable family wizard and worker on the rebuilding of the school Angus Brown said of the headmistress "Me, nay, never seen so much dedication. All 'er walls plastered with designs and notes. Lotsa big red ticks too, bits that are finished on schedule. Alot a shoutin' yesterday, an' 'er very angry. Sum min'stry or sommat wanted to postpone the openin'. She said no flat, an' weren' good enough. Couldn' let the students down. Straigh' that evenin', she's takin' a big bag o' gold and she says "see this", she says. "This be yourn if it get complete on time, but" she adds- an' might I say right determined she looked, "but you don' make no shoddy job o' it, eh?" an me'n t'other workers, we says, |
"yes ma'am" and we finishes it right proper" Although questioned as to whether he considered bribery an honest trait in one who would be looking after children, Mr. Brown was aghast at the idea. "Bribery? No, Lady Fernell ain't no briber. She's a good person, and rewards those who is doin' right. Even those who weren' workin so well gets a big thankyou from her end each day, hearty and honest, like" Whether the Lady will live up to the praise heaped on her from all directions, is a question the answer of which we shall all have to wait for. Rumours have been flying about the preparations for the opening, but it is known that parents are invited to see their children settled in, and that a large supply of fireworks have been ordered from a specialist. It is believed that a net of over 600,000G has been spent on the reconstruction- a significant portion of which was funded from the Fernell's personal estate. For that price, it can be assured that the ministry at least, as well as the taxpayers, pray for success. |
