| Personality: Lunch is just about the sweetest character one could imagine. She is pure of heart, notice how she rides the kintoun easily, and very easily duped. She serves as Muten Roshi's cook, but also his, uh, entertainment so to speak. Even though he is constantly hitting on her or trying to grope her, she never loses her cool and usually has no clue what's going on. She seems to take the backseat to her 'evil side', dubbed Kushami, and begins appearing less than her. This could be due to the fact that Kushami begins to control her hatred and anger, meaning a possible fusion of the personalities is taking place. We never get to know, though, as Lunch is written out of the storyline in the beginning of the Z saga. Lunch seems to become mild friends with Buruma (they are only one year apart), but generally her best friends are Gokou and Kuririn, as they're the only people besides Roshi that she has frequent contact with. Love Life: Lunch falls in love with Tenshinhan during Dragonball, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. In the manga Kuririn makes an off-hand comment on how she left to search for Tenshinhan (therefore explaining her write-out), and Toriyama later explains that she never found him since he and Choazu were always switching training grounds. In the anime Kushami robs a bank and causes Tenshinhan to become angry with her and leave. It's never said whether or not she married any one else. All in all her love life is better suited for a soap opera. Importance: Lunch plays little importance in Dragonball, serving mainly as Muten Roshi's house maid and eye candy. She does add a great deal of comedic relief, however, and is part of the reason Tenshinhan decides to 'join' the good guys. Sadly, Kushami becomes the most dominant role between the two, seemingly more popular, and Lunch serves as little more than one of Kushami's weaknesses. I, for one, would've enjoyed it if Lunch had stayed in the picture and married Tenshinhan. It would be interesting to see how their children ended up. On to the Gallery |
