Personality: Buruma starts of as spoiled and selfish, seemingly caring for only herself and her wish to the dragon. She uses Gokou and Oolong in her grudge work, and though Gokou doesn't seem to mind much (he
is on an adventure, after all), Buruma had to trick Oolong into eating a plum drop and tease him with panties before he agreed to help her. Of course, her tricking him proves that she isn't your ordinary rich girl. She might not know how to rough it, but Buruma has been blessed with an IQ to match Einstein.
Buruma's greed and childish ways diminish as the series matures. She begins to care about others just as much as she does for herself, but still bosses people around. She's a realist, and very extroverted. She doesn't waste her time coming up with ideas that are too wildly pessimistic nor does she see the silver lining on every cloud. She's actually very level-headed, but has a temper problem that causes her to go on rages.
During Dragonball Buruma's best friend appears to be, surprisingly, Puaru as they both love Yamucha to a high degree. However, later in the Z and during  the GT saga her friends quickly change. Once she gives birth to Baby Trunks, her best friend appears to be Chichi. This is probably due to Goten and Trunks relationship plus Vejita's obsession over beating Gokou in a fight. The two mothers, however, seem to be a little in competition over who's family is better.

Love Life: Buruma begins to date Yamucha after the first fight with Pilaf, when the two suddenly realize they're perfect for each other. The two seem great together, highly affectionate and Yamucha even changes his hairstyle/clothes for her a numerous amount of times. During the 7 years where Dragonball ends and Dragonball Z begins, the two still hold affection for each other but break it off. The relationship's potential is revived when Buruma and Kuririn retrieve Yamucha to train with Kami-sama, but quickly diminishes when one of Vejita and Nappa's saibamen does a kamikaze attack on the victor of their battle, Yamucha. Buruma still has hope and, approximately two and a half years later, the two get back together for a brief stint during the Garlic Jr. and Trunks sagas. Buruma was 28 whenever Mirai no Trunks appeared. In a couple years, when Buruma is 30, Baby Trunks is born. In other words, once the two rekindle their romance, someone else blows it out. Who is this person? Why, none other than Vejita. If this is a joke, I don't get it, but I guess it's debatable that Vejita and Buruma began to feel warmth towards each other while Vejita made a home out of Capsule Corp. Though the initial belief I held at first was 'this is a fling', I quickly found that the two had a daughter, Bra/Bura, and settled into the same residence. Not bad, learning to control the most uptight force on the face of the universe.

Importance: Buruma is the most important female character in all of Dragonball. She is obviously the lead female character, and Toriyama even suggested that perhaps Gokou and Buruma would hook up. She usually provides transportation and other mechanics, food and hoi poi capsules. Hell, without Buruma Gokou would still be out in the woods praying to a dragonball. There'd be no story, that's it. Kind of a sucky end to Dragonball, an end before the beginning. Buruma not only discovers Son Gokou, but she discovers exactly what dragonballs are and how to track them down, she allows Goku to bring Umigame to the sea (therefore introducing Muten Roshi to the story) and gives birth to Trunks. Mirai no Buruma creates the time machine, therefore saving Gokou's, Kuririn's, Vejita's, Tenshinhan's, Yamucha's, Piccolo's (and therefore Kami-sama's) lives. In GT, Buruma creates a device that allows Vejita to go SSJ4.
