| Laguna Loire is a warm guy with a big heart. He's got a soft spot for children and is horribly shy around women (he get's bad leg cramps whevever he's around them). He's in the army, and he runs around, doing missions, with his two friends, Kiros and Ward. However, his goal is really to become a writer. Besides all this, Laguna has horrible luck. At one point, he was in love with a beautiful piano player (who actually ended up being Rinoa's mother! And whose name is eluding me at the moment...), and she would've married him, but he went to war and didn't come back in time. She married someone else. When he was in the war, he was injured and was found and then nursed back to health by a woman named Raine. He eventually married her and they had a son together. Raine already had a little girl living with her, an orphan named Ellone, so technically she was stepsister to one Squall Leonheart. After his son was born, Laguna had to go off to battle again. But while he was gone, Raine got very sick and died, so Squall and Ellone were taken to an orphanage. Laguna came back, found out what happened and went searching for them. But by the time he even arrived at the orphanage, the children were gone. Ellone had been taken, and Squall had left for Balamb Garden......but Laguna didn't know that, so he never found his son or step-daughter. He did meet them, much later on (in the game) and he recognizes Ellone and Squall, but he doesn't tell Squall who he is. Laguna lets him try to figure it out. (They'll never actually tell you that Laguna is Squall's father...you just have to figure it out from all the hints they drop in "Dream Land" flashbacks....). |
