Revolving Door

Ah, the emptiness has returned

And what now have I learned:

This progression can not be halted

Is it me that is so faulted?

I am what they have in common

Maybe its me that is so broken.

The revolving door, around it goes

Unoften turned, it softly echoes.

Warm fires burning, laughter filled rooms

No longer so quiet as pharaohs tombs

Happiness, temporary, but wonderful still:

The only path now is all down hill.

Out the revolving door they go.

All their support, gone in tow

Every evidence of their short reside

I burn it, or find it a place to hide.

I vow again to lock that door,

Rather then be some friendship whore.

Some return, as if never gone

No matter that its been so long.

With desperate hope for it to stay

I couldnt turn that warmth away.

I wont deny my old friends entry

Despite my pain filled history.

The destined result, always the same

Out the turning door through which they came.

Abandoned again, more pain on my soul;

Not even a ghost remains to console.

Heart and soul bleed evermore:

Why cant I lock the revolving door?
