Myself Vs. Myself

Myself in denial, everything's OK,
Same old thing, just a new day
Myself facing harsh reality,
These hoped for things will never be.
Myself tightly holding on,
Still pretending nothing is wrong.
Myself regretfully letting go
Feeling pained and so low.
Myself at war with myself anew;
Thoughts, logics, all thrown askew.

As myself and myself fight it out
(A bloody, dangerous bout).
Myself isn’t ready to let go,
Myself feels so utterly low.
Still in denial; myself can’t give up:
Myself, the fight, will not interrupt.
Myself is ready to move on,
Myself knows He’s already gone.
Decisions made; myself gave up:
Myself, the fight, will not interrupt.

Now the battle nears its end
Myself and myself will never mend.
At last, a tie has been declared!
My whole, it turns, will not be spared. . .
Myself and Myself go separate ways;
My whole feels an eternal malaise.
Myself has torn itself apart
Myself has split in two, my heart.
My selves have become two separate beings:
Severed lives, sundered dealings. . .
