I've been through some bands since I started playing music. Most never lasted that long. After a while I taught myself to play the kind of music that I was hearing in my head.....and came up with the idea to be my own band. Dreams in Black is the name of one of the first songs that I made on my own. It was on my first "album" (titled: Only in His Mind). I got the idea for the title of the song while listening to the Pearl Jam song "Better Man". In this song he sings ".....she dreams in color...." on one part. For some reason this stuck in my head and made me wonder "what if some insane dude started claiming that he dreamed in BLACK??"!! Thus the title and basis for my song.
I didn't decide to use Dreams in Black as my own band name until more recently though. After going through the different bands before...I wanted something that I could call my own. Something that would let me have all the creative freedom that I want. I went through a few names and decided that Dreams in Black was perfect.
