I'm waiting at Penn Station for the train, making a list of everything I'll need for my new apartment! It looks great- not perfect, but what is perfect? It's on 57th between 3rd and Lex (perfect location for Paul and Harvey AND me). The bedroom is a little small and both bathrooms are in the bedrooms (so if people come over, they'll have to go through the bedroom), but those are the only downsides. It has a washer and dryer in the apartment, a health club in the building (included in the rent), parking across the street (good for Harvey), a doorman and a concierge, a nice looking lobby, it's a quiet building (and it's only a year old), and a nice view. Oh, the closest aren't too small but are oddly shaped- I don't know where clothes you'll need to hang will go but hopefully it's easier than it looked. Did I mention the great location? The post office is a few blocks away and a grocery store is nearby as well. The best part is not having to go cross-town to get to Hunter- it's right on Lex @ 68th. Now I just have to furnish it. I'm going to stick around Baltimore a few extra days to do that. To me, furning is the hard part. I can never find stuff I like for prices I'm willing to pay. I don't even know where to look. I briefly looked at Hold Everything and Jennifer's Convertables (or whatever the sleep sofa store is called) but didn't see anything that would work. If anyone reading this knows of any furniture stores that are both in Baltimore (where I'll be looking) and New York (where I'll be buying), please let me know. I'll already be going to the Pottery Barn and possibly IKEA.

Now I'm sitting on the very full train- at least I got a seat. And I'll be getting back early so it'll still be light for the walk to Eytan's.

I'm having a quiet night tonight since Eytan is going to dinner with a friend. I'll probably get some work done and that's about it. I wish I felt safe walking down to Mt. Vernon. It's only a few blocks, but the 2 blocks right at his apartment building is creepy. Maybe on their way to dinner they could drop me off somewhere, but then I'd be stuck until they can pick me up. Never mind, I'll just stay in. If I had thought ahead, I could have rented a movie yesterday. Oh, but he didn't tell me he was going to dinner until 11:00 last night. Well, I'm definitely rented movies for tomorrow night since he has plans then too. I feel like I'm in the way. He and his friend are going to go out in Mt. Vernon and if I wasn't there, they could go back to Eytan's. Now they have to go all the way to Towson (where his friend lives). Maybe I'll see if Jon wants to do anything tonight- although it's short notice and his wife probably wouldn't want him having plans with me.

How can the train back have 2 more stops than the one this morning but get in 10 minutes earlier? There's no way this will get in before 5:30. It left 15 minutes late and this is the slowest train I've ever been on. The one this morning was the bumpiest I've ever been on.
