Last night I decided to stay at the Hilton down the street from me. I guess I don't stay in hotels enough when I'm out of town. Actually, they had a REALLY good deal and why not? Some people spend their money partying or shopping or on football games. I decided to spend money on a hotel room. It was fun.

It would be so great to be in Hunt Valley this weekend. Then I could do Balpex AND go to the Once Hush show. I guess I'll have to live vicariously through Josh and Eytan. It is raining though so I don't even know if they'll be playing tonight anyway. I'm sure they will though. It'll probably stop raining in time. Or it'll be raining and they'll play anyway. Those fans don't mind dancing in the rain. I would mind after a little while though. Something about getting soaking wet at the State Fair just doesn't sound like fun to me. Am I getting too old to do things that are a little uncomfortable? I did manage to sit at a baseball game recently for a while in the rain before heading up for cover.

Brie and Matt are looking for a place to move after she has to leave here. The only thing is that she wants a ring before she'll move in with him. And not just any ring, a $6000 ring! I think if the point of an engagement ring is to signify a future wedding, and a wedding joins two people together in every way (including financially), then the man and woman should split the cost of the engagement ring. Fortunately for a lot of woman out there, most people don't see things the way I do. Personally, I wouldn't even want a ring. I never wear jewelry (mostly just because I forget to put any on) and I wouldn't want the responsibility of carrying around something that expensive. If someone wanted to give me a ring just as a symbol of committment, then I'd want it to be a cheap, little ring. Then they can spend the money on more important things. I think most women just want a fancy, expensive ring so they can show it off to their girlfriends.

Here comes Dickens Cottenhead-
Hoppin', hoppin' into bed
Hippity, hoppity, Branch is on his way.
Bringing lots of high-pitched squeaks
To rehearsal every week
She thinks she's cool...
Not.

I can't believe I remembered that stupid song that Steffani and I made up. I vividly remember sitting at Mike's Pizza, across from rehearsal, goofing around and coming up with that song. I wonder if she remembers it. Probably not. Or maybe she might if I mentioned it. I think I'm going to try to find her again. I know we headed off in different directions, but she was really my only friend in high school (that I actually hung out with) and I think it would be fun to hook up some time and reminisce about the School for the Arts and all that jazz.

So I didn't have any luck finding Steffani but I think I found her sister, Alexis, on ICQ.
