If someone doesn't like bugs and someone else says to them, "Well, they're more afraid of you than you are of it," then if I were the person who didn't like bug would say, "Is that what you think when you see a bug in your house? I don't think so. I want you to give me a good reason to not mind the bugs in my house. Then maybe I really won't mind them."

Well, I did it. I just called security at my apartment complex and complained about the people upstairs. They're having a REALLY loud party. Not only is there loud music, it sounds like 5 girls are shrieking every 5 minutes all at the same time! We'll see what happens. They'll know it was me. I banged on the ceiling a few times earlier today. Oh well. I bolted the door, they can't hurt me. Ugh. Now they're stomping around REALLY LOUDLY!!!!!!!!!!!

1:00 AM

Ok, they're still being REALLY loud. I called security back and they said they would take care of it and they might have to call the P.D. Though I'm assuming they'll call them one more time and warn them that they'll call the police if they continue to be loud. But how will security know if they continue to be loud unless I call them. I really don't want to call again, although I will if I have to. So, we'll see what happens... The saga continues...

12:00 PM

Well, I called security back and they said they had been over there twice and now they would call the police. I don't know if the police ever came but they were really loud until after 3:00 and then I fell asleep at some point. Then Brie, Matt, & Jeff came in at 7:00 for a minute before they went to the pool. They asked if I wanted to go too but it was 7:00 in the morning, I was tired- obviously they hadn't gone to bed yet. So I actually fell back to sleep until 11:00 which surprised me since I was pretty awake at 7:00. So I had a weird dream- something about wandering around New York and running into strangers who were really nice and kept giving me stuff like socks, video tapes, and party favours. I met Jeff- who didn't look like Jeff and was really nice. And somehow I was involved with a man and his son but I don't remember the point of all of that. All I remember is he was reading a book to his son called, "Bourgeoisie" and I was listening as well. Later, someone asked Jeff if we wanted to watch the movie, "Bourgeoisie" and I was excited since I had heard the book the week before and now wanted to see the movie. Then I woke up and wanted to go back to sleep to finish the dream but it was already 11:00 and I didn't think I should sleep any longer. My sleeping patterns are weird enough right now. I really should have gotten up at 7:00 so I could have done something before football. Now all I want to do is watch football.

Things I've discovered about living in Phoenix:
-People don't get that one night in the fall to stay at the bars an extra hour because of changing the clocks for daylight savings.
-All restaurants close at 10:00 PM at the latest (11:00 PM on weekends if you're lucky).
-All the snowbirds from the east coast don't seem to miss things like bagels or delis.

Ah, more noise. That yappy dog is outside really going at it. He's barking as loud as he possibly can (he's such a tiny little thing) and non-stop for the past 5 minutes. Why do I think it'll be more quiet in New York? For some reason when I'm in New York, I don't mind the noise or I don't notice it or something. Here, it's all I notice. Either I'm getting more sensitive with the noise thing or I have some weird problem with Phoenix noise but not New York noise. I'm hoping it's the latter.

10:00 PM

After WAY TOO MUCH aggrevation, I booked a flight to Baltimore for September 21. I wound up using frequent flier miles since every airline's fare was expensive since it was less than 14 days in advance (when did it go from 7 to 14 days?). And since it was less than 14 days in advance, I had to pay $40. Then, there weren't any seats available in the morning flight so I had to take the later flight which only had middle seats available (but I'm hoping to change that at the gate) and I'm flying to Phili and renting a car from there. The flight is supposed to get in a 6:50 but I know it'll be at least 2 hours late. So I'll be getting into Baltimore at God knows what hour. Then I get to try to find parking around Eytan's apartment on the lovely Mt. Royal and try not to get mugged on my way from the parking spot to his apartment. Maybe I'll try to find somewhere else to stay the first night. This air travel thing is almost not worth it. I know once I'm there, I'll be thrilled, but right now it seems like a lot of irritation for not a very good reason. I really do hate the way air travel works. First I hate the way they are all in collusion (that doesn't look like the right spelling but I'm too lazy to look it up) in terms of fares. Then I hate the fact that the amount of people traveling is going up and the number of flights available is going down. Then there's all the delays... And it amazes me that I don't get tired of complaining about it. I could complain for hours, but I won't now- I've complained enough for one day. The air travel topic has taken up enough of my day.

I was looking forward to the Sunday night game and then realised that it was the Cardinals/Cowboys game which was here so we got it blacked out. I hate that. Oh well, it gave me the chance to do other things (like try to book a flight). I'll make time to watch tomorrow night's game. I do like The Patriots.
