I make notes during the week for things I want to include here. Looking back at them when I do take the time to update, some of it doesn't seem important anymore. I never know whether to include everything since I would have if I had the time to write every day or if I should leave some of it out since why type more than I have to? I usually wind up doing a mix of the two- leave out the really unimportant stuff and write about the mostly unimportant stuff.

I have way too many Hawaii pictures. I started dealing with them on Sunday but didn't finish. No idea when I'll get them up here.

After a weekend of mostly sleep, tea, and soup, I woke up Monday morning feeling worse. I don't understand. I still felt awful Monday night but Tuesday I started to feel better. Now the cold's basically gone, but I still have a little congestion.

There was more snow Monday and Tuesday. Nothing extreme though.

Tuesday was a cultural day. I spent the afternoon researching Dada theatre and reading "Six Characters in Search of an Author", had a quick dinner at Thomas Beisl (nice to eat somewhere different and good), and saw Laurie Anderson at BAM (interesting but it felt abbreviated [and the talk-back after was really short]). It was a lot of running around the city on a brutally windy day, but it was worth it.

I had a lot of work Wednesday- everyone came out of the woodwork. Also on Wednesday, I felt faint from about 4:00-9:00 PM. Made for a lovely drafting experience in lighting class.

Wednesday night on my walk home, I saw a guy on a bike get hit by a taxi. I had a lot to do and there seemed to be plenty of other people sticking around as witnesses, so I didn't stay. Thursday afternoon, I got hit by some metal pipes because a construction worker wasn't watching where he was walking and backed into me. Fortunately, I wasn't hurt too badly. Technically, I suppose I could sue, but I don't believe in suing for something like this. I just wish people were more careful about where they are in relation to others in such a crowded city. Then today I saw someone fall on top of someone in a wheelchair (even though the guy in the chair yelled several times for the other guy to watch out). Pay attention, people!

I got about 2/3 of my Dada paper finished today (still need to find an image to write about and come up with a conclusion). It's also too long, so I'll have to figure out how to shorten it. Today I also did a lot of work, dealt with some mail, and organised my finances (the NY State Tax Dept drives me crazy). Tonight I think I'll try to watch Bill Maher while finishing up some work.

"Spamalot" must have had a big marketing budget. The ads are already on a lot of buses and there are ads on Yahoo (that one I find particularly strange). I wonder if it's any good. If I had the kind of time I used to have, I'd go check it out. I wonder if I'll be able to make time to see "Virginia Woolf"? I'm pretty interested in that and the new Mamet and Neil LaBute and Light in the Piazza. Will I see any of those at all? Maybe I'll have to go see a Broadway show for lighting and I could pick Light in the Piazza.

There's a new wine store on my block. Don't really see a need for it, with several others within a few blocks. I'll give them 6 months before closing. At least it's not another Starbucks or something.

I haven't mentioned recently how happy I am to have found a copy of this Future Circus tape. It really is cool stuff. One reason I love the Internet. In fact, maybe I'll do a "Reasons I love the Internet" this weekend, if I have time.

Eytan has a lot going on, according to Jon (can't believe I had to hear from Jon rather than Eytan himself- maybe he's planning to call on my real birthday and tell me the news then). Anyway, his father had to get a pacemaker (Jon says he's going home today, which I assume means he's doing better) and Eytan bought a condo in DC recently (don't know the details- Jon wasn't very helpful). I'm curious about how he's planning to move with a full time job and taking 2 classes. At least he doesn't have a lot of stuff and is moving close to where he currently lives.

I definitely get strange songs in my head often, but today's the strangest one yet:
I've got a car it's made of tin
Nobody knows what shape it's in
It's got 4 wheels and a running board
It's not a Chevy, it's a Ford
Honk honk rattle rattle crash crash beep beep
I have no idea of the last time I thought of that song nor do I remember when I first heard it (I think it was at Camp Debut).

I've really gotten a lot done this weekend and it's only Saturday afternoon. Last night I finished up some market research and this morning I finished my Dada paper (just need to fix the conclusion a bit). The rest of the weekend I can spend organising some things around here, get a start on another paper, do a lot of school reading, and a bunch of little things.

The biggest problem with these world theatre classes is there's too much to cover. There isn't time to go into enough detail in any one area. At least the other 2 semesters I had of it, we did one main research paper (along with some smaller papers and tests on specifics as well as general stuff), so we could at least have one in-depth subject. Wish I could do that this semester- I loved researching Dada and could have definitely spent longer going into more detail (in fact, I wish I could take a class on avant-garde theatre, but of course we only get the bare bones of theatre classes, so no such luck). The instructor this semester is having us do 4 research papers, several other papers and projects and presentations and readings from several sources, as well as reading the plays. Almost every class she has us break into groups for 5-10 minutes to come up with something to present to the class (that takes about 20 minutes for all the groups to have a turn). It's chaotic and pointless, since there's not enough time to figure out what we're really doing, and then it's over, never to be brought up again since the next class is an entirely different subject. It's all so scattered and barely any time to actually learn what you're "learning". And the other thing that really bothers me is that more time is spent going over grammar than discussing history or ideas. On my last paper, her comments were all grammar-related- nothing about what I've said about the subject. I've had theatre classes where the entire time was spent discussing plagerism, some were spent learning about verbs. And each semester, you do this over and over in every course, since I guess instructors assume there are new students who haven't heard the lectures yet. If the department wants to be this obsessive about writing, they should have a required course devoted to learning how to write. Oh wait, there is such a class. English 101. I guess some students didn't learn the stuff in that class? Well, why make all of us suffer through it over and over and take time away from actual theatre-related things? Why not have the students having trouble sign up for a workshop or have them make appointments at the writing center?

Something I've been thinking about a lot over the past year or so: subjective reality/actual reality. I am always thinking about whether to do something or think something because it is closer to reality or to do or think something because it's fun or easy. Example: It's easy to think that everything happens for a reason. A lot of people use that phrase. I used to use it a lot too. But why do we think that? Because it takes the responsibility off of us. It's easy. But is it reality? Probably not. So I try not to think about things that way too often because I'd rather be more naturalistic in my thinking/acting. I want to see things for exactly what they are, but I also enjoy the fantastic and trying to figure out how/where/why there was a need for the artist's creation. And I get irritated that life too often imitates "art" (people unconsciously act the way they think they're supposed to act in a given situation- they unconsciously think, "Oh, I'm talking to a co-worker about some mundane topic, I should be as dramatic as possible- the way they do on office shows on TV"). I'm probably not explaining this too well since it's a difficult concept to explain without writing for an hour (which I don't have), but this is the basic idea. Reality, fantasy, subjectivity, Truth, news, art, history, cognitive dissonance- these subjects are almost always on my mind throughout every day.

Hey, Frank Rich and I are on the same wavelength (either that or he's been peeking at my site). Last week I mentioned not having enough news in our news, and in today's article, he says the same thing and used my example (Peter Jennings' UFO story).

Got a memo that the laundry room will be renovated in a couple weeks. New machines! It's about time. For $5/load, having only 1 tiny washer and 1 small dryer working at a time is ridiculous. Hopefully, not only will the new ones work, they will be at least a little bigger (although the room's pretty small, so I'm not expecting too much).

Another productive day (not that I have much of a choice to be unproductive). I did some cleaning and some work and some reading for school and some odds and ends (I feel like I'm always doing little things, but the list never shrinks- and I'm good at eliminating the non-urgent).

Sorry to all my Maryland friends and family for MD's loss to Tech yesterday. Personally, I think it's a good thing. MD's had a very inconsistent year and probably wouldn't make it far in the tournament no matter what seed (and they deserve to mess up a year- they'll probably do better next year), whereas Tech stepped up to become an important part of the ACC in their first year there, which is exciting for them and newsworthy for college basketball fans.

So, tomorrow's my birthday. Barely aware of it this year. Every year it seems less and less necessary to acknowledge birthdays.

2. information can easily be spread worldwide
3. best place to find something unique
4. you can obtain an infinite amount of information (with some effort)
5. it can provide an infitinte amount of entertainment

Top 3 Things I Don't Like About the Internet:
1. like everything else, it's too much about business, marketing, and advertising
2. it's getting more and more difficult to find unpopular information
3. there are fewer sites with free information

I've gotten a lot done this morning, so I decided to take a little break and update.

Monday was a typical busy Monday- work, school, errands, and some "happy birthday" calls to interrupt the usual flow of things. It was a warm day, but Tuesday it was back to snowing, for a change (this time with blizzard conditions)- traffic was beyond horrible- the horns were literally going nonstop.

Something major was happening on my street Monday night. Couldn't tell what was going on, but there were 9 police vehicles and they were blocking off the traffic heading east. Then Tuesday afternoon, there were 30 police vehicles in a row headed east. I'm assuming these incidents were because of suspicious activity by the bridge. Also yesterday, police vehicles blocked parts of my intersection at various times- maybe to help the flow of traffic, which was a mess.

And when are they going to finish the Bloomberg Tower?

I wish we had a system where consumers tried to find businesses rather than the other way around. If business owners offered what they liked and what they're good at, the clients interested in whatever they offered would come to them. The way it is now, everyone on either side of every bell curve gets ignored since everything is made for the people in the middle of the curve even though there's probably a large group of people who are on the ends of the curves that would provide the businesses with more than enough money in sales.

Okay, back to work.

Been BUSY!

Last Thursday, public transportation was nice to me, other than one bus that didn't want to show up (so I took a taxi crosstown rather than continue to stand in the freezing weather waiting for the nonexistent bus- and when I gave the taxi driver my address, he asked me what goes on over there- I asked him what he meant and he said there's always so much traffic- interesting that a taxi driver thinks my area is particularly bad).

We had more snow last Friday morning, but then it warmed up and went away. It's been reasonably warm all week.

They were doing work in the kitchen of the apartment above me, and whatever they were doing caused them to crash through to my kitchen. What a mess! Fortunately, they came to fix everything here the next day.

Last Friday was spent emailing back and forth with Andy about some issues. Haven't heard from him since then. Hope to hear from him soon- I miss him.

I was talking to Paula about noise issues, and she suggested using headphones during the day to block sound. And conveniently, they got a free pair of BOSE headphones once, and she said I could use them :)

I'll be able to get them next weekend. A few day ago, I booked a car for Maine and got an amazing deal- $55/day, including insurance- on a holiday weekend- I guess no one travels for Easter? Convenient for me. Thank you, Avis.

Looking forward to being in Maine. Hopefully it'll be both productive and relaxing.

There's something wrong with the battery on my laptop. Fortunately, I don't think I need to use it away from another power source anytime soon. Although I should make the time sometime soon to deal with that and my CD burner as well (which hasn't worked for over a year).

Monday was a fairly good day other than an ocular migraine (got it around 2:00 PM and it lasted about an hour, but I had fuzzy vision until about 10:00 PM. I had a small amount of caffeine, enough sleep, but no food before I got it- maybe that was the key for this one). So, why was it a good day? Transportation worked smoothly, no trouble with elevators, traffic wasn't a big problem (other than in the morning when it was the worst I've seen it on a clear weather day), had 2 decent classes (a first this semester), and Demi was walking to 59th after class tonight so I had someone to walk most of the way home with (a first ever). Energy-wise, it was a slow day for me until I got home around 8:00 PM, but then I got kind of hyper and got done a lot of stuff at warp speed.

There's a crazy amount of work being done on my street these days. Besides the regular major construction, there are 2 minor projects across the street, and they've been doing work under my street for a change as well. There's already too much congestion, but when they block a lane or two, the honking REALLY gets bad!

Tuesday I decided to go to Cold Spring, for a change of scenery (not the best day, but I was in a good mood for reasons unknown). I took a ton of school stuff to deal with, and figured I could spend a few minutes checking out Main Street. Well, most things are closed there on Tuesday (should have checked that before going- was kind of looking forward to the music shop), but I finally found a cafe that was open (they didn't have the first three things I tried to order and the server was nasty, but at least they had coffee- I was exhausted). On the way there, the train I was on was stuck in the tunnel for a LONG time- kind of scary. And that morning at Grand Central, I had some trouble with a cop (no, I wasn't doing anything wrong as usual, he just decided I was a criminal because I was sitting on the floor by myself, waiting for the train to arrive). The main problem of the day was that 3/4 of the school stuff did not go well. But I did like the change of scenery (it was a comfortable town), so maybe that's why I was feeling good.

Tuesday was mentally exhausting and I barely got any sleep Monday night, so I went to sleep early on Tuesday. Nice to have that luxury. This month isn't quite as busy as most months have been for the past year or so.

Wednesday was not a good day. My home phone stopped working (and I couldn't talk to anyone at RCN since my cell phone kept dropping the call after being on hold for 5-10 minutes several times- I eventually gave up, but service came back yesterday), other phone calls I needed to make didn't go smoothly, I didn't understand a word of what I was trying to read for class, the jackhammering and traffic were particularly loud, I was the target of Mr. Power Trip's bitching in lighting, and my subway line wasn't running (my unresearched theory on why there are so many MTA issues recently is that they are doing these htings on purpose to prove they need more money to continue running smoothly).

St. Patrick's Day was very noticeable this year- lots of cops and parade/party people all over the place.

Yesterday in world theatre, we had one of our break-into-groups-take-ten-minutes-and-come-up-with-a-presentation things. But this one was interesting. She gave us some lines, told us to get in 3 groups, and each group would perform the "piece" in a different style (Brechtian, Theatre of the Absurd, and Theatre of Cruelty). We did some interesting stuff. I was impressed with what we came up with in our 1.5 minutes of prep time. I wish we could spend more time on anti-realist styles (we're moving on to something else on Monday). It's the one general area of theatre that I still enjoy.

CRAAAAZYYYYY stuff going on with work! I can't believe I know certain people who do certain outrageous things. It's like the stuff you see in movies or read in the news. Dealing with all that is a large part of what's been keeping me busy.

Watched some movies last night, to look at lighting ("Girl with a Pearl Earring" and "Blowup"- both Ian's suggestions). I still don't understand how most lighting designs are accomplished exactly, but it's really interesting to look at everything in a new way, both natural and artificial- I noticed the lighting while riding on the train from Cold Spring in the late afternoon (how the sun hit the water and mountains and train stations) and I tried to figure out the lighting plots in certain scenes in the movies.

I finally got a lot of sleep (on and off for about 10 hours). I really needed that. I feel like I'll be able to be really productive today.

So I think I'll be able to take the time to put up my Hawaii pictures today, in between the more urgent things.

We're having a spring weather day. Maybe I'll find something productive to do outdoors as well.

The Hawaii pictures are up.

This weekend went quickly. I guess that's what happens when you sleep for 16 hours of it. That was necessary though. Fortunately, it was a good weekend for it- the workload wasn't impossible, which made things much more relaxing. This will be a busy upcoming week, but having this not-so-busy weekend should make the week easier.

Why must the media have so many one-unimportant-issue days? One day all about Martha Stewart. One day all about Michael Jackson. One day all about steroids in baseball. When there are so many important issues they could focus on. How about a day discussing Iraq, Sudan, Syria, North Korea, the environment, Social Security, and education? All of them. In the same day. In detail. And then have some follow-up stories over several weeks. And save Michael Jackson stories for entertainment news outlets and steriods in baseball for sports news outlets. Twenty-four hour news networks like CNN have 24 hours to provide insight into world issues. But they don't. They go for ratings. Everything's about ratings and advertising money and "hitting the numbers" (as Bill Maher briefly discussed on his show the other night). I'm just glad there are other media outlets on the Internet for people who care more about trying to improve world conditions rather than detailed descriptions about Martha Stewart's house arrest conditions.

I remember quite a few details of last night's dream. I was at a resort like the one where we stayed in Hawaii (I guess this part came from dealing with my Hawaii pictures the other day). I didn't know anyone there at first, but later people I knew came into play (like Mike and I think, Neil, showed up for work). I had rented a big car, and somehow a 12 year old boy got in the car, with me in the passenger seat, and tried to drive it somewhere. I kept trying to get him to pull over and let me drive, and finally he found a cul-de-sac to turn around in (the town didn't look like Hawaii, so I guess it was another resort somewhere else). I drove it back to the resort. A cop came by a few minutes after we came back with the car and said the car was in an accident, but it turned out he was talking about a different car. A woman who looked like Delphine but wasn't Delphine kept trying to give me a vile of herbs that she wanted me to have (this part came from Neil telling me about the herb party that Maxine and Abby went to last weekend). I finally took it and put it in my pocket. I kept trying to check my email several times, but people kept interrupting me. I also kept trying to take pictures of sunsets, but I was always leaving my camera all over the place and never had it when there was a good shot. It was with me when it was cloudy, but then when the sun came out, my camera was at the movie theatre or by the computer or 100 other places I left it. A little girl who was supposed to be Bren but didn't look at all like her let me borrow her camera, but I wasn't able to get any good shots. I also wanted to take pictures of huge waves, but I kept missing those as well. I think that's all I remember now. Not too exciting but nice to know I can still remember details of dreams. I don't know why I don't remember as many dreams as I used to.

Got an ocular migraine yesterday. Again it was around 2:00 and lasted a little less than an hour. And again I had a small amount of caffeine but no food beforehand. I'm pretty sure it's the no food that's the cause of this one and the one last week. I need to remember to force myself to eat Monday mornings, even though I'm never hungry, so I can stop getting ocular migraines Monday afternoons (if that is indeed the cause).

Heard from Andy. Things are better. It's so hard to write more than that without writing about other people's personal business, and I don't think it's fair to do that. There are a number of things I can't write about here (much of it is work related). It's odd having this be my main journal. Looking back at my edited life isn't as appealing as looking back at an uncensored version (and I do try to keep this as uncensored as possible), but it's definitely better than no version, which is usually what I wind up with if I only keep a private journal. I wonder why I can't be consistent with a private journal. I've thought about that on and off through the years and can't come up with a real answer. But I don't really feel a need for an answer. It's just the way things are at this point.

Between construction and traffic, it's getting really difficult to walk on my street and the surrounding few blocks. It's a real obstacle course, with closed lanes causing more impatient drivers, and closed off sidewalks forcing people to walk in the street with the aggressive drivers, and some construction workers oblivious to the pedestrians they're about to hit with metal pipes, and of course there's always the people handing out fliers who take up what little sidewalk there is left to walk on... And these building projects are long term, so this mess will be going on indefinitely.

Last night and today were (and tomorrow will be) whirlwind days. I'm doing 12 things at the same time nonstop. Necessary, and fortunately, most of it has gone smoothly, which always makes life much easier (wish that wasn't so rare).

I'm leaving Thursday morning to head up to Maine. I may have time to write from up there, I may not.

_______________________________________________________________

We're supposed to have rain today and then change to snow tonight and continue snowing tomorrow. Currently, it's snowing (weather forecasts are useless) and AMAZINGLY WINDY. Who knows what will happen tonight and tomorrow. I was planning on leaving around 9:00 tomorrow morning, but maybe I'll wind up waiting until closer to 10:00 or 10:30 in hopes that the roads will be better then (it doesn't get dark in Maine until around 5:30, so even if the drive takes longer than normal, I should still get there before dark- and I could always stay somewhere else for a night if it gets too dark to drive- hate not being able to drive at night). I'm assuming the roads will be okay to drive on, but it won't be comfortable. I can't remember the last time I drove in the snow- probably about 10 years ago. If it wasn't a crowded area, I wouldn't mind. But this area has so much traffic and so many horrible drivers, and that makes me nervous. I'll just have to wait and see what's going on tomorrow morning.

In the meantime, I have to go out in the mess here. Traffic is disgusting and there are emergency vehicles trying to get through every 2-5 minutes (including 14 cop cars heading west about an hour ago). Need to run some errands and do some reading at the library before class.

Have I mentioned that next week we start working on the show? More hours taken out of my already-too-busy days. I'm not sure of what I'll be needing to do exactly, or how many hours beyond next week I'll need to put in. I wish he was more specific with this stuff. And if you ask any questions, he looks at you like you're a complete idiot and doesn't bother answering the questions. Lovely man.

Okay, time to bundle up in winter gear and brave the obstacle course.

9:00 PM

This is not a good night to not have heat- it's freezing (snow and sleet all day, messy sidewalks, bad traffic). They were doing work on the building's heat today. The memo I got said that after this afternoon, we will need to call to have our individual units reset. But they don't do that at night, so no heat for me tonight. Hopefully they'll come fix my units while I'm away. And Paula assured me that their heat is working properly now, so hopefully it won't be as freezing as last time (that was a real problem).

Really don't have a lot of time right now, but 20 minutes tonight is more than I'll have for the next couple days, so I thought I'd write now rather than let more pile up.

The ride up to Maine wasn't horrendous but not a breeze either. There was too much traffic the whole way (minus a few minutes here and there), a lot of trucks throwing ice into my windshield (and the wipers didn't really work, so that was a problem), and it was tiring, but I made it in under 6 hours.

Friday, I hit my knee while getting in the shower, which caused various problems for the whole trip. There were also lots of little problems that day (Paula and I not finding what we were looking for, parking difficulties, someone hitting my rental car in a parking lot- I'm assuming that's what happened as the dents and scratches weren't there when I picked up the car and I didn't hit anything in my travels...) which made it an all around exhausting day.

Saturday was a little better, although the towns were crowded for the holiday weekend. I went to do some of my reading at the cute bookstore in South Berwick and met a wonderful girl who worked there. I spent too much time talking to her (rather than finish my reading), but it was worth it (I finished the reading the next day). I really wasn't productive enough in general on Saturday. Between talking to the girl at the bookstore and going to dinner in Portsmouth with Paula and Harvey and playing games for a bit with Andy, I really didn't have a full day to work with.

Sunday was more productive. I did some work, some school work, and started to look into June travel stuff (I really should finish that up soon but have no idea when I can afford the time to do that- maybe I can do it in little bits over the next couple weeks). My knee was still really bothering me on Sunday. Nothing I was doing to help it was working.

Monday it poured all day. And the phone rang non-stop. That got confusing since a couple of the phones didn't really work and I didn't always know which one was ringing and how to understand people on the non-working phones enough to see who they were and tell them I'd call back on the better phones. I hope they get their phone situation fixed soon. I don't know how they've been dealing with that. Of course, I don't know how they deal with half of the things they deal with on a regular basis. I really find the business world disgusting. Monday night I took a little time to put up some of the stuff I found in old notebooks that were at their house (don't know how some of it wound up there). Maybe one day I'll put up more stuff I have in various notebooks here.

I didn't sleep much during my time in Maine, but it was wonderful having quiet in my room the whole time.

The drive home was tense. It was pouring until southern CT (where it slowed to a light rain until I got home- then, of course, the sun started to come out a little). With the horrible windshield wipers, many stretches of road without lane lines, and the heavy amount of traffic, I was so not happy driving. Several times I wanted to pull over and wait, but then I reminded myself that the rain wasn't going to stop and I really needed to get home that day. So I kept going (slowly) and made it back in about 7-8 hours (I think I spent 45 extra minutes driving through the city since I missed the turn off to get on FDR [for a change- one day I'm determined to get that part right] and wound up on Riverside, so I weaved across Manhattan in order to get home- and there was a lot of traffic and delivery trucks and other obstacles in the way).

The rest of Tuesday went by in a blur. I was too drained from the ride to fully comprehend anything I did.

I don't think I've mentioned recently how much I love not owning a car. I'm so not looking forward to having one on a daily basis, but I'll deal with it when it's time.

My new building owners are a pain. They're constantly sending notices and forms to fill out. And in a few months, I'll have to call them and try to negotiate something with my lease situation. Wish me luck.

I'm so tempted to cancel cable TV. I barely watch any TV, and now RCN's dropping 2 of the channels I occasionally watched (IFC and Ovation)- they're moving both to digital cable- smart move, to get people to pay for digital. For me, it's not worth it. But I do watch some stuff on occasion (Jeopardy, HBO, TCM, a few other random things), so I don't really want to cancel. I wish there was a way to pay only for the channels you watch. I don't need 20 sports and news networks, or TBS, E, Disney, Bravo... You'd think I'd be used to everything going downhill, but I'm not. I'm so tired of things always getting worse instead of remaining the same or *gasp* getting better.

My knee still was a problem yesterday. Injuries remind me of how many stairs I encounter on a daily basis (and Hunter's non-working elevators and escalators are especially a problem). Yesterday evening, we practiced focusing lights. Fortuantely, I was able to hide in the group and didn't have to actually partake in the activity (actually only a few got to try it out)- didn't feel like telling him about my knee injury and having him tell me he didn't care about my excuse and then have him make fun of me the entire time I was focusing a light because I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't want to climb ladders with my knee still hurting like it was. If my knee didn't hurt and there was a different lighting guy (who didn't have Mr. Power Trip's attitude), I would have liked to focus lights- nice to do something different.

Wearing the BOSE headphones at home does help block some of the construction and road noise (just doesn't block any honking or emergency vehicles). Thanks, Paula.

My knee's feeling a bit better today. Hopefully nothing will happen in the next few days to make it worse again.

Two examples of my bad luck that Harvey got to see for himself and now believes a little more that I have worse luck than most people he knows:
1. We went to the Nubble Lighthouse when I was up there to take some pictures during the sunset/moon rise. There were a few spots where the waves crashed against some rocks and created huge splashes of water in the air. I tried to capture it on camera but was having a difficult time. There were tons of waves until I pointed my camera in that direction. As soon as I put my camera away, the waves returned. This happened for 20 minutes (still not sure if I got any good pictures of that- I'll find out whenever I get around to dealing with all those pictures). Harvey was amazed. I told him that maybe I should go to Indonesia and point my camera at the ocean to make sure they don't get anymore tsunamis. Then tonight, we (Paula, Harvey, Neil, and I) ordered delivery from Fred's. Everyone got their order except me (they gave me something else). We called and they said they would send over the correct order, but they never did- so I skipped dinner (that kind of thing happens to me very often). So Harvey got to witness those 2 things within a week. I think he might start to believe me when I tell him about other things now.

I have some other thoughts on my mind but don't want to get into all that now. I'll probably take the time to write about those things on Sunday.
