Physical Characteristics Babag Bubuan is an island under the municipality of Sumisip. It has a relative distance of 8 miles from the municipal proper, Manggal. Total land area is 350 hectares. 91 % are agricultural, 8 % fishpond and 1 % is forest. Socio-Demographic Data It has a total number of 2, 105 population. Babag has a five sitioswith its corresponding number of residents: Sitio Simanuhang with population of 195, Babag proper 159, sitio Limawa 498, sitio Bunuyan 182 and Sitio Landing 699. Population is comprised of 10 families of Tausog, and the majority Sama. Total numbers of IDPs per sotio are: Sitio Babag 36, sitio Limawa 74 and sitio Buniyan 32.

Access to Information Barangay Babag reached by the signal of Smart network. Sanitary Facilities and Ownership The barangay has no toilet. Residents’ runs to the sea shore when natures call them. Access to Water Supply Deep well is the only water source of the barangay. Common Occurring Illnesses Malaria, Asthma, Tuberculosis, measles, Sinusitis, “Bolot”, “epul”. Health Facilities& Health Workers There is no health center & workers in the barangay. There are midwifes and health workers from the mainland Manggal who visits and give medicines and other health services to the community. Economic Development Sector Fishing and farming, is the livelihood activities of the barangay Houses are made of Bamboo, nipa, and wood. Infrastructure Facilities There is School and class rooms for grade one to grade six. Babag is accessible only by boat from neighboring Island, Saluping.
