Sorry about the late article fellas, but I thought better late than never right?
Well, Big Carnelian, it's not all that big so I'm not sure where it gets it's name. But nevertheless it is a good bass lake. This lake has some very interesting structure. It comes complete with some sharp drop off points, long tapering flats, mid lake humps, wood in the shallows and some slop. To be honest, this lake should fit just about any fishing style, except for maybe docks. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of docks but because of the sharp drop offs from shore, most docks are limited to one or two sections.  The docks here may hold fish but not like other regional lakes like Forest and Green lakes.

If you are a dock person, that tells me you like shallow water and Big Carnelian has it's share of shallow water fishing. Look for the pockets in the slop or the roots of a stump, either should produce a keeper.  If you are a deep water angler, then test your skill on the humps that Big C offers. Patience is the key here as they will produce but do you have the time in a 3 hour tournament to wait fot those bites? It takes a bigger man than me to sit and watch the clock tick and the wind blow with your line slack in the water. These spots may not produce a winning sack, but look out big fish pot!!!!!

For those of you who lean towards the shoreline, this is the lake for you. I beleive that shoreline fishing on this lake will produce most of your numbers. Your weight may stay under 10 lbs, but you should be able to boat a 5 fish sack. Try to cover as much ater as possible when hitting the shoreline, fan casting is the key here. Look for those sharp drops or the coontail on the flats, either should produce fish. Don't be afraid to toss a few casts away from shore, you never know!!!

That's all for now guys, it's 10:20 PM the night before the tournament so I'm not sure who will be able to read this before the tournament but good luck anyway!!
