On how I became to own the Minnesota Wild...

I used to visit the ESPN.com Flyers boards religiously.  Seriously, everyday I would get into work, or school, and check it out.  I used to have some fun, I remember seeing Ian on there a lot.  My name used to be thetom5482, later it was JRB_Rules.  Anyway, I saw this post about a new keeper fantasy hockey league.  I had never done one but loved the idea of running my own franchise for longer then a year, and actually keeping the players.  A league in which there was some thinking and skill involved.  So I decided to check it out, and the league was just developing so I easily got a team.  That is when I met Mike, who is an awesome guy and also very smart.  I give all the credit in the world to him for starting this league, and for not having a mental breakdown in maintaining it.  So I wanted the Philadelphia Flyers, naturally, because they were my favorite team.  DENIED!  Ian already had them, I was dissapointed, but not turned off.  It didn't matter, we would be picking our own teams anyway.  So I took the Boston Bruins.  I live in Rhode Island and the closest teams are the Bruins, Rangers and Islanders.  I'll be damned if I'm going to pick a New York team.  I began telling people about the league, helping it grow and asked my buddy if he wanted to join.  After all, he loved hockey as much as I did, or so I thought.  He was a huge Bruins fan, so the logical thing, I thought, was to give him the Bruins.  So I did, and I picked the Wild.  Why did I pick the Wild?  I don't really know, maybe I liked them because they are an underdog team.  I really routed for them in the 2002 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and green is also my favorite color, so I thought, why not?  I have to admit since taking over this team I have grow a certain likeness to the actual Minnesota Wild, I'd say they are my favorite team from the west.  Of course, my heart will always be in Philadelphia, Minnesota comes in a close second.
